This back pack is very small. The dimensions given are accurate. I read reviews for this size VB bag on the VB website and one person said they used it in college for books so I thought it must be bigger than it seems. Uh, nope. It is very slender. No way to get more than a book or 2 and definitely not college books! I bought it for my 2nd grade daughter and it's just too small. All she carries is one folder, a water bottle, a jacket and pencils. The folder fits barely and there's no room for a small, wadded up sweater or jacket. Forget the water bottle. A standard small Ozarka bottle will not fit.

However... This bag is gorgeous! It is well sewn with high quality materials. Smooth zippers. Front pocket has magnetic flap. Beautiful item.

This bag would be perfect for a pre-k girl or toddler. Or maybe as a "purse backpack" or to carry a tablet/iPad. But not as a functional school backpack.

I gave it 4 stars because it's beautiful, the quality is great and, to be fair, the dimensions are listed clearly and accurately. But it should at least accommodate a standard water bottle in the water bottle pocket!
