This turned out to be the perfect bag for 12 year old that just started middle school. String bags are so popular but they hurt kid's shoulders. This bag has flat straps and cinches shut when you pull on both sides. It is perfect for a binder and a few other things. If you have big text books they probably won't fit. It also has a nice zip pocket on the outside. My son is very happy and says it fits in his locker perfectly.
