I bought this for my 12" Dell notebook, but the side stuck out by one and a half inches. I bought it after carefully reading the dimensions and thought it would fit, otherwise the product was great.

My laptop is a Lenovo x200 with a 9 cell battery. The laptop fits, but because of the large battery, the fit is very tight. For a 12in laptop without a battery that protrudes, I think this case would be excellent.

Bought this for my 13" Lenovo x200 (13" is the diagonal screen measurement; the computer is more like 12" long). Even though the package says it is for 12-13.3" laptops, mine is an EXTREMELY tight fit--I have to pinch the zipper together to close it--which is not something I have time for when I'm running out the door or from one class to another. And yes, there are chemical smells coming from it, not terrible, but kinda gross. I'm bummed that it's too small, because other than that, the color is cool, and it seems sturdy and very protective. I would definitely recommend this if you have a 12" laptop, but would not recommend it for anything bigger.

Update: the chemical smells dissipated pretty quickly. I am still using it for my 13" Lenovo, and although it is a tight squeeze, it does fit and the bubble shape around the corners probably does provide some extra protection.
