I've had my JanSport Right Pack for almost 20 years. It got me through my college years to adult life with children. It's been crammed with text books, gone through 4 seasons of the midwest year after year, brought to ball games, hikes, camping, used as a diaper bag...you name it, my bag has been there. It has been one of the most dependable things in my life that I consider it a friend! The adventures it's gone through with me in it's life can't be beat! Every time I use it, it reminds me how this backpack is so amazing to have lasted this long. The only thing that has started to happen is the inside is slightly fraying so pieces of it get stuck in the zipper occasionally.

I didn't realize how much a good quality backpack meant until having children. I bought them semi-cheap ones and have had to replace them annually. This year, they will be getting a Right Pack for sure!

I remembered these packs when my brother-in-law passed his on to my wife. It inspired me to do a search and see if they were still making them after 30+ years. The Jansport backpack is a classic pack from the days when all you needed was a rucksack and a slide rule. This product is just as useful today. No bells or whistles: Just what you need plus a few simple upgrades that do not detract from that retro look. A thin sleeve for a laptop or folders; front pocket for pens, glasses, and a clip to hold your house keys in place; a thin outer pocket I use only for my shades. The shape is deep, but not too wide. The pack hugs comfortable to your back cushioned by a thin pad and firm foam straps.

The material is a tough water resistant nylon with a tough suede leather base. Though very simple, the design is thoughtful. The heavier suede leather is only where it is needed: at the base of the pack for added durability. The thin but firm foam is placed where it is needed, at the shoulders and as a pad for the back.

Other packs are heavy having all the gadgets a consumer would want: cell pocket, whistle, folder pockets, padded laptop pockets, multiple foam straps, pockets I have no idea what to do with, etc....Are you tired of searching 20 pockets every time you open your bag? More pockets mean more weight and less space for your stuff. They also make it tough to distribute weight evenly throwing your body off balance....your back sore, yet? Backpack makers have to strangle you with sternum straps and waist straps just to manage all of the additional weight they put on for your "convenience." The straps add more weight too and, when you are not carrying enough stuff to keep you alive for four days, they dangle around slapping your legs or getting caught on your bike....you don't need it folks.

It is rare that a company sticks to such a pure design. They are not trying to sell anyone on these and this is why: They were great packs when they came out and they still are.

I am a teacher and I use mine daily for work: Laptop, four folders with student work, a notebook, a couple of pens, calculator, laptop charger, too many keys, shades, eyeglasses, my lunch

On the weekends I dump my work stuff and use it to make grocery runs and other errands I do on my bike.

I've had this same backpack since 1996!!! The only difference is that mine has a strap that goes around your waist but I've never used it. Its been hiking, camping, through middle and high school and I still use it almost every day. NOTHING IS BROKE!! and trust me.. it's been through a lot. I remember buying it for 50 bucks at the mall when I was in 6th grade.. everyone had a Jansport, so of course, I had to have one too lol Still love this thing. This is the second or third Jansport back pack I have owned. Carry every day to school and then to work after graduation. Last one I had lasted over 15 years of daily carrying and it's just starting to wear out. Can't beat it for durability and quality. Love the suede bottom. It makes it tougher. Don't get me wrong this was a great back pack. It carried all my books and got the job done. I've had it for about a year now, and not even a single hole or tear. However it terms of functionality, you may want to look for another option. I got this backpack simply because it was stylish and unique. The back support is poor, the straps or back are not reinforced whatsoever. The suede bottom although durable, has become extremely discolored and feels almost like leather now. The backpack has minimal pockets (only three compartments). Still all in all, this was a great back pack for the price.

Meffort Inc 15.6" Laptop Sleeve with Extra Side Pocket , Soft Carrying Handle & Removable Shoulder

This sleeve is very pretty and fits my 15.6" Compaq perfectly. It's a little darker than the picture makes it seem, but still bright and vibrant. Everything seems well stitched and stood up to some tugging no problem. The handles and shoulder strap are nicely padded and comfortable. I like that the shoulder strap is removable and easily adjustable.

Please bear in mind that this is a sleeve, not a true 'bag'. There's not much room in the main compartment for anything other than your laptop. The additional front pocket provides plent of room for your charger and mouse, and maybe a couple other small things.

If you want to cart books or purse essentials, this isn't the right bag for you.

The picture on the website showed this bag a vibrant blue so I ordered the matching skin art decal. The Decal is beautiful and exactly as pictured. The bag goes from a faded light blue to purple then to black. Not nearly as pretty as pictured. It is a gift so I will let the recipient decide if she likes it. I also ordered a mouse in blue so that doesn't match either. I am not very pleased with this order. This company has the same bag at three different prices. That's a little strange. I've ordered quite a few Christmas gifts through Amazon this year. I hope the other items I ordered are better than this one or this will be my last order.

I was expecting the bag to be bigger. But it's just the right size if you just want a laptop bag and nothing more. Inside is a reasonably snug fit for my 15.6" laptop and there is a compartment at the front to hold the charger, and maybe a mouse but there will be some bulging.

I am using it for school so it would've been nice if some books could hold in as well, but like I said, if you're just looking for a bag, then this is a nice one.

It's thin and padded. The colours in the photo aren't as bright on the actually bag, but it is still pretty.

Have owned this bag for about 2 years and thought I'd weigh in on it. I use this bag weekly for business travel and the two things that drew me to it were the light weight (empty) and the design/colors it's not your typical black rolling laptop bag.

Pros: It's cute, have gotten many compliments on it.

It's relatively light, though when loaded with a laptop and other essentials, it's still 12+ pounds.

The side pocket for water or soda outstanding functional design, folds in, secures with internal magnet when not in use

Multiple organization sections room for files, section for pens, larger area for bulkier things, i.e., power cord, makeup bag, etc.

Fits in every overhead bin I've encountered (small regional planes) but not under all seats.

My Dell laptop fits perfectly in the padded section, zipper design allows for fast, easy access at airports.

Cons: The single stem retractable handle looks cool but makes it impossible to set another bag on top flips off to the side.

The side bottle pocket fabric is starting to shred lighter nylon fabric is not as sturdy.

The wheels are now very noisy going to try some WD40 to see if that helps but it's very annoying.

The retractable handle stops at each section don't hold the handle up anymore.

If you have a lot of things in the front sections, it tends to tip forward the stabilizer bar on the bottom front should be taller.

The contour factor for carrying would be great if there was any way to attach a shoulder strap, but there isn't. The mfg. literature says it comes with

a shoulder strap but it doesn't they use the same literature for their smaller shoulder bag.

I'm now looking to replace this bag because of the noisy wheels and the shredding fabric. Nothing I'm finding comes close to the storage and fun factor of this bag, but the fact that I can't sit a smaller bag (purse) on top of it while pulling (the single stem doesn't work for that, smaller bag flips off to one side or other) would be enough to keep me from purchasing this bag again.

I was looking for a rolling laptop bag that looks like a women's tote when carried and was so thrilled to find this one. It looks great and and hold much more than it looks like it would. I love the water bottle holder. There is room for files and notebooks, a small make up bag and purse. Seems very durable too. Please note: there is no shoulder strap as the described.

I finally found a stylish and functional solution! Everyone who sees this wants one. It is small enough to easily manuever but at the same time has plenty of room for all of my stuff. It carries a ton of weight easily and the wheels are large and roll well even over uneven surfaces and curbs. The handle is study and doesn't twist or flex. The side cup holder folds shut and secures with a magnet when not in use. I have never had this bag perform the dreaded side roll or tip while I am walking along. It moves very smoothly and, a huge plus, is super quite even on tiled surfaces. The way it is made it doesn't bump into your legs while you carry it by the double strap handle. I can't think of anything that could be added to this bag to make it any more functional or attractive. I am in love! I am planning to order another one of these just in case they ever stop making them. The price is more than a steal when compared to other bags of MUCH less quality! If you need a rolling bag, buy this one!

This is a good-looking feminine bag. I've had it a week here are my thoughts.

Pros:

Cute

Lots of places to stash small goodies (newspapers, magazines, pens, kleenex)

Slim look handle

Clear wheels

Cons:

Handle a bit tricky to extend/put back; wobbly

No shoulder strap, no hooks for a strap should you want one

A bit on the heavy side for such a small bag (5 lb 5 oz)

Not at all quiet on asphalt

Magnetic-closed bag straps are about 2-3" too short to allow carrying it comfortably on the shoulder, so not at all sure why the "Air-Flo Contour (TM) Panel" is even there to "dissipate heat and hug the body for greater comfort." This is the biggest reason it lost a star (along with no shoulder strap). It's awkward to carry.

I have used a number of computer bags over the years and needed to convert to a wheeled version for ergonomic reasons. I disliked many of the options because they not only looked heavy and industrial but were just stiff and klunky to use. This one is nice looking, light and practical. The pockets are a nice combination for papers and notebooks as well as cords, thicker items that need a bit more space and protection. It's easy to access all of the pockets. I showed up at my office with it(healthcare field) and 3 of my coworkers immediately went and purchased it as well. We could use some other colors so they don't get mixed up. By the way, I took it on vacation recently and it also fits nicely under the seat on planes. I haven't found anything I dislike about it yet.

This laptop case looks exactly like the photo. I have the grass green shade, and the coloring is spot on. I'm very please with the bag. It has two pockets, one is for the laptop and has a nice fleece-like lining to protect the computer. The other side has 2 larger compartments and 2 pen/cil compartments.

I think one thing that would make it better is if it had the option to clip the long shoulder strap on so it could hang sideways but that's just a thought from the brain of a short person!

I would firstly like to say that it is a shame Amazon don't ship directly to Australia. I have to order and have items shipped to my niece and then she has to re ship to Melbourne. When I received the product I was a little disappointed as the fabric feels very synthetic and dare I say it, cheap :( I bought these for gifts because I have one which I've had for years and find invaluable when travelling, mine is made of raw silk and is lightly bigger. The ones I purchased are a good size but I'm reluctant to give them as gifts because I feel like they look and feel cheap. Such a shame. They look much better in the photos.

I was looking for a backpack since I had been using the same one for a couple of years. The average backpack was 30-40$ which is why I decided on this as I read a review it was pretty much the same material as more popular backpacks and it also looks the same minus logo. The front pocket is a big large but to me it's all the better as I have lots of accessories that I store there like pens, charger for my laptop, and my phone. One thing I don't like is the little ring on the upper right corner of the backpack next to the main zipper. I will keep it short and sweet. The pack pack is perfect for what I need. I needed something that would house a 17" laptop while being comfortable to wear and this backpack has them both. It is very lightweight material but seems to be just as tough as some heavier materials.

The only problem with this bag is the seller. While checking out, I selected 1-3 day service to ship and paid the extra money for shipping (since they are not fulfilled by Amazon). As usual, they send you a notice after buying the item that they can take up to a week to deliver the item even after selecting 1-3 day shipping because of "handling time." I bought this backpack to replace my wornout Eastport Classic. I couldn't find the Eastport classic anywhere and had a hard time finding one like it. This one is close but doesn't have quite the capacity and not as many smaller side pockets. It seems durable (more so than my old one)and looks good too. I think for the price, I got a good backpack. After having this bag for abput 8 months now, it is very durable. I use it all the time and it gets some rough treatment. I still wish I had a little more capacity and the extra side pockets, but I am very satified with this bag!

I quickly bought this for my wife's laptop after she threatened to make one out of a pair of old jeans. This nice light-weight bag (sleeve) is well padded and decorative. It has heavy-duty padded detachable shoulder straps as well as handles. (It's also available without the straps for a few dollars less). The case has a zippered side pocket large enough to store a charger and all your accessories.

HP Ultra Mobile Backpack

I bought this laptop backpack, because I wanted a bag that was functional but not bulky. I am a very petite female and I wanted a bag to transport my laptop that didn't overwhelm me. I am happy with its design. Very slim, sturdy and comfortable. Single main zipperinner sleeve holds laptop, while outer portion has enough room to hold small books/magazines, recharge chord etc. while still maintaining the slim appearance. Two side zipper compartments hold my umbrella and/or bottle of water. Although I am happy with my purchase, my only personal complaint is that it feels a bit wide for my body...as mentioned I am petite....5'2, 100 lbs. So although the bag is perfectly slim, I do wish it were a bit more narrow. Straps are nice and thick, feels like the bag will hold up forever. Maybe too hot/bulky to wear in the summer, but that may be the trade off for having a sturdy bag to secure a laptop.

This is a great bag for a great price. It's very comfortable, and protect the laptop well. It does need more pockets. I also use it for school and it is hard to fit my charger, pens, and mouse wit only a few pockets. I have only a few text books and it fits them and my laptop perfectly. Very comfortable.

I ordered this laptop backpack to replace my standard issue Dell messenger-style laptop bag. While the Dell bag worked fine, I found that my posture was pretty poor when I used it. I wanted to get a backpack to help, but didn't want to a) break the bank, and; b) get a over-sized bag with all lumbar support bells and whistles. This one fit the bill!

While it's a little light on the extra pocket space for gadgets and odds and ends (only reason I gave it 4 stars), the backpack is solid in what it offers: function. I love its low-profile look and that it does exactly what I need for a great price!

This bag is huge. I was able to fit my macbook pro (17"), along with its charger, my backup drive, mouse, a novel or two, my portable DVD player, its charger, a bag of nuts, and two t-shirts, two pairs of socks, and a pair of pyjama bottoms. The front side pockets are just big enough to hold a small bottle of water, along with my ipod, mobile phone, ipod charger, wallet, keys, and a few pens. Best part is that the bag is very light, so it's easy to carry lots of stuff in, and not worry about the weight of the bag weighing you down.

I was really delighted by this product at first, but in less than a year two of the zipper heads have already come off and there are a couple holes in it. This is with light, daily use.

I love the look and the million pockets it has..... however, its just so heavy. Since its got so many pockets, its great to keep everything organized but I'm not sure its such a great diaper bag. The pockets are kind of slim. Also, the bag is a bit heavy when empty, it really gets heavy with all your baby stuff in it.

This bag looks great and holds a ton of stuff. My only complaint is even empty its heavy!

It has three different pockets, and a mommy pocket in the front that you can keep your wallet etc in. The outside pockets are designed for clothes diapers etc and the inside one is designed for dirty or wet clothing. It also comes with a insulated bottle holder and straps to strap it to the stroller. The straps are handy but with how heavy the bag is it causes my stroller to tip if I let go for even a second.

I love this bag! If you are looking for something small this is not the bag for you. If you want a bag that is organized with a place for everything and then some, I highly recommend it. It's worth paying a little more for.

The front, smaller pocket is perfect for holding all of Mom's goodies. It has two "cell phone" style pockets and a little mesh one attached to the inside for organizing. It also comes with a key chain that attaches with a click so your keys never end up in the bottom of your bag.

Next to that there is a large, open zipped section that has a small and shallow zipped pouch on the side.

In the middle there is a zipped section that is made up of an anti-microbial material. Comes in handy if you have a soiled set of clothes and no plastic bag to put them in. Wipes out clean!

The last section is nicely set up to organize lots of baby needs. There is a pouch for one of those slim plastic holders for wipes. There is also a very nicely made and large changing pad that is the anti-microbial material on one side and the same leather the bag is made up of on the other. There is a snap in pouch that fits two bottles or cups and has the anti-microbial material inside as well (doesn't keep cold on long adventures, but keeps cold for shorter outings). There is also a large zipped section in the side that is lined with the anti-microbial material.

The bag also came with a matching leather bottle holder, a small leather organizing pouch, and stroller hooks.

I get complimented a lot on this bag. While it is large(you never know what you will need when kids are in tow!), it holds everything I need for my kiddos but it doesn't feel like I am carrying a diaper bag... it's too stylish! It is made well and out of high end materials. It wipes clean and the zippers are strong. What I love the most is that I always know where the things I need are. It really keeps me organized and looks great while I'm at it! I highly recommend this purse, I mean diaper bag!

just received the bag last night, actually; and though i haven't used it yet, it is miles above my current one for function, accessibility, and arm-carry-convenience. sadly, the lovely nuanced green color shown in the photographs is miles below the darkest-of-dark murky green of the bag i received. i will most likely keep it, as one cannot beat the price; perhaps the price is low because of the murkiness? dunno. but please know...otherwise? the material quality, workmanship -thoughtfulness! -are supreme.
