When I received this bag, I thought it was too big.....until I used it on my recent cruise. I used it on one snorkel and two dive excursions, and it is the perfect size for my fins, mask, snorkel, two towels, a change of clothing, and various toiletries. The inner pocket is actually three in one one deep pocket the length of the backpack, and two shallow ones at the top, with a zippered top. Very happy with this bag and it will obviously last for years, unlike the lightweight mesh bags that fall apart.

Buying a good backpack is surprisingly difficult. Maybe I'm just picky, but I had a hard time finding one that had enough pockets, a large enough main compartment and separate laptop compartment, was big enough but not too big, and was somewhat cool looking. So I was really excited to find this one, which had some really neat features and was unique enough to justify the price. After about two weeks of light school use, though, the fabric on the straps started fraying. Amazon's customer service is great, I was able to return the product and buy a different bag with no problem. I was just disappointed that this one didn't work out.

I have to say, this little organizer has changed my life. I first bought the Skooba R750-300 Cable Stable DLX (Black) and soon had it filled with cords and chargers for my smart phone, my mp3 players, my computer and my Kindle, so I ordered this as a back up. They're a little pricey, but well worth it because of the internal features like elastic holders and zippered pockets. If you're considering this one, take a look at Skooba Cable Stable Combo Pack (750-350) to get both sizes. I use these things all the time and now have the DLX for phone and computer stuff and the Mini for MP3 things. I bought the AmazonBasics Universal Travel Case for Small Electronics and Accessories (Black) to use with my Kindle because the Kindle Fire does NOT work well with the Skooba Mini. With all three, I now have dedicated "clutter fixers" for all my small electronics and when I travel, I can simply unzip and send them through the TSA screener with my laptop! Highly recommended for those who, like me, have too many cords and not enough time.

I bought this bag over a year ago, and at first, I loved it. The cable stable and the mini are great for organizing your cordage, but they both take up a large amount of space in my carry on, which is just not practical for me. I ended up loading the cords in this that I don't use all the time and throwing the whole bag in my checked luggage. If you have cordage to carry that you wont be needing at the airport, then this is a great carry case, however, if you need access to your charge cables and whatnot, then this is not the best product for you.

I still use this in my checked luggage to this day to carry the cables and associated hardware that I need to charge my second laptop while on the road. I think it is very well built out of sturdy materials and will last a long time. The Skooba case also gets brownie points for organization and a quick reference to assure that you've got all your E-gear in the bag.

All told, I find the case attractive and it does the job of organizing, but the bottom line is: If you travel three or more times a month, then you might consider a different storage alternative for your carry on cordage.

My preferred method is Vaultz Nylon mesh zipper bags. they take up a quarter of the space and I can see what's inside without having to get them out of my bag and open them up.

I have been looking for something to help me clean up the wires in my laptop bag for some time. My AC adapter came in a nylon zipper bag, but it doesn't offer much organization. This seems to fit my needs for all of the random cables that I need to carry. USB, iPod, headphones, a Kensington lock, etc. There is not enough room for my AC adapter, but I find that I like two smaller cable bags than one large one. Two smaller bags make better use of the nooks and crannies in my laptop bag, where a large one would just take up space in the main compartment.

Ok, I bought this case and the Amazonbasics Universal travel case for small electronics. Having received and compared both, I can say that while both are nice, I like this one better. First, the softer shell of this case makes it easier to squeeze into bags. Second, this case has better holders. Finally, this case just feels better in your hands and I was able to put more in it, despite the fact that the Amazonbasics case is a little thicker.

I recently bought this, loaded it up with cables and small devices and within a week the stitching was coming apart in some of the ties. It's still usable, but I'm a little disappointed with the quality.

We needed two laptop bags for our twin grandsons new laptops. They needed to be essentially the same but targeted to the individual personalities. These cushioned neoprene foam rubber bags, with the various different available designs are just the perfect solution. We chose the one with the Music theme for the for the musician and the one with the Funny porcupine design for the funny one. They don't have a lot of room for accessories but you can get a mouse and power supply in there because they stretch, it will just be a bit lumpt that way.

This is my daughter's backpack. It has stood up well this semester. It is cute and unique. It does not have any compartments or pockets inside for pens and phones. That is my only disappointment.

High Sierra 2230-Cubic Inches Scrimmage Daypack

I've been looking for a bookbag that's cute, but sturdy and fairly cheap. I settled on the green one, which looks great. The pros are that it holds all my books for college along with my laptop (it has it's own sleeve inside)and I can usually manage to stuff a lunchbox inside. It doesn't really even look that full either. It has plenty of compartments for just about everything, including a mesh one on the strap for something small. The loops on the ends of the straps are nice too; makes it easier to adjust them. It also appears to be waterproof so far. The cons are that although there's a nice section inside for the laptop, the side closest to the back is NOT padded. It makes the back really straight and kind of uncomfortable. Pair that with strange handle at the top (it connects the straps together), and it makes wearing it a little aggravating. I guess the bag might be made for a guy, but also the way the straps lay on my body is a little constricting... I don't regret this purchase, but I am a little disappointed in the bag itself.

I can't speak for the durability since I just got it, but it looks extremely sturdy, and High Sierra is a well known brand for durability. The myriads of pockets and organizers are great I count two smaller pockets (one with organizer mesh and key hook), a medium-sized space (long vertically but thinner width), and a large space which also contains the laptop sleeve. The laptop sleve is sturdy and padded (though without a lid, if you are looking for one), and the bottom and back are also padded. Zippers look durable and are easy to use. The two side pockets (not mesh) are just big enough to securely fasten a slender water bottle or keys. The back part is quite stiff (it won't crumple up when you set it on the ground), but is well-padded for comfort. Straps are comfy, and the interesting joining of the two strap to form a handle doesn't bother me too much, especially if the backpack is filled and the gravity pulls the straps away from my neck. The mesh pocket on the strap is too narrow for me to fit my smartphone, but it holds an ipod nano or an school ID/bus pass nicely.

Be aware that this backpack is quite big (2230in), and is on the heavier side (I would guess about 2.2lbs?). It fits my needs for carrying a lot of stuff for a long day at school or a short camping trip, but it is quite big on my small-medium build (5'4). I got the navy/white armor/leafy green on which the navy looks more gray-blue, but you can't beat the $26 price and overall I'm happy with my purchase.

Great backpack. Plenty of room for everything and interior keeps things organized. I carry my ipad in the large compartment which is separated with a padded divider, keeping it well protected and leaves plenty of room for lots of other things.

Product is exactly as pictured, very nice. Lots of space and pockets for my books and the laptop sleeve is large enough for a 15-17 inch screen laptop. Only con is that there isn't a strap to keep the laptop in place and it tends to slide around a bit.

The quality of this product is very poor. Gave it to my niece for her birthday. Within 3 weeks the strap broke and the zipper split so it is no longer usable. Contacted the seller and they wanted pictures sent to them. Sent the pictures but they will not accept the return because the item has been used. Unfortunately my niece lost out on her birthday gift because this company does not stand behind their product.

First thing first, only reason i didn't give it 5 stars is there is no water bottle holder. I travel and this fits perfectly on my 360 spinner luggage from travel pro (25 inch) since there is a strap in the bag that fits snugly on luggage. it holds all the work and play items in need when i travel (mac, ipad, ipod, cords, bose headset, work folders and make up bag. also holds the extra stuff i get at the airport, magazines, snacks and water.

more room than you need unless you use this as a suitcase. and again the only downfall is i need to place my water in the bag since there is no external holder. what is cool is 2 small external pockets that hold keys, lip balm, snacks etc so you don't need to dig inside. contains an ipod pouch within the bag with an access hole at the top of the bag to the outside for your earphones. would totally recommend!

I just received this as a replacement for a TravelPro backpack that I'd purchased at Staples which fell apart inside (apparently was made by a different company, but they honored their lifetime warranty great customer service!). I want to love this bag. It's very sturdy, looks very solidly made, but...

There is NO WAY you'll fit any 17" laptop in this.

The bag's dimensions are 17.5" tall on the outside, but the computer compartment has a very nicely padded pocket to hold the laptop. As this padded pocket is sewn inside the bag about a half inch off the bottom, it loses a lot of available space. I walked around the office trying different laptops, and none of the 17" or 17.3" would fit inside. The biggest we could get in was a Sony Vaio 15" screen, with outer dimensions of 10"x14", and even then I had to pull the zipper up over the corners in a tight fit.

If you have a 15" or smaller laptop, I recommend this bag. The internal pockets are roomy, the fabric is thick and tightly woven, the zippers are heavy duty, and TravelPro has a lifetime warranty. The "checkpoint friendly" clamshell design is a huge timesaver going through security lines. For anything bigger, keep looking. I'm waiting to see what the company is going to do for me, as their other backpack has similar dimensions. If they say I'm stuck with this, well, then, a coworker of mine is going to have a very nice present, and I'll be shopping for a new bag.

My girls tend to be hard on their backpacks. So, I let them pick out their own this year. When my daughter picked out this one I was worried that it wasn't going to hold up very well....but it has since proved me wrong. Out of all the backpacks that I purchased over the years, this one seems to have lasted the longest. What's better is that my daughter was able to design it the way she wanted to. If she gets bored with the design, she changes it. I purchased washable markers as well so that she can change it up whenever she wants to just by throwing it in the wash. Excellent product!

Sigh... This was a gift (or will be if I'm able to give it) but it arrived damaged with a dent in the side. I'm hoping to get it resolved with the seller but here's what I thought of the actual product:

1. Size: Very very small. It is NOT a suitcase but could be used for carry on luggage. The dimensions are given so I was expecting carry on size vs suitcase size but it does seem smaller than I expected.

2. Quality: Not great but not awful. Again this is a gift so I hope the recipient is happy with it. It would be destroyed if checked in as regular luggage. I would only use for carry on purposes or other non-plane travel. If it was damaged in shipping to me it seems like it's easy to dent the plastic material used.

3. Price: Way over priced....ok it's Hello Kitty but still...I wouldn't keep it for myself for this much but if the person I bought it for is happy with it than I'm ok with the cost.

4. Appearance: Adorable! It looks as cute as the picture and the color red is accurately shown (it's bright!). It's definitely super cute.

So overall I'm just not sure. Maybe I can update my review after seeing the reaction of the recipient (if I'm able to get a non-dented one in time).

This pack has traveled on a day hike through the Sierra Nevadas as well as several airports to get me to the mountains. It's extremely comfortable (I'm 5'8", 135 lbs), holds more than enough gear/food/water for a full day on the trails, yet has plenty of pockets for urban traveling too. I haven't had need for the rain cover yet. Love that it's a fun color. Best pack I've ever owned.

Looking forward to using this pack on the Camino de Santiago. Large enough to fit a compact sleeping bag and all essentials. Nice fit and great look.

Global Warrior Tactical Go Pack Cargo MOLLE 3-Day Bag - Black Backpack

Bought this pack to replace one I owned from SOC/BugOut that I bought while in the Army.

Things I like about this pack:

-The exterior is made of the same strong fabric my SOC pack was made of, so it's durable.

-The main compartment zipper is thick and sturdy, as it should be.

-This pack has a hydration bag pocket inside and a port on the top to run the hose through. The pocket is big. I have a 2 or 2.5L bag and there's plenty of room. It should easily hold a 3L.

Things I'm disappointed about:

-The fabric that divides the compartments from one another is that thin polyester crap they use in wal-mart backpacks for kids that sell for $14.97. In the frontmost pocket, I clipped my pocketknife on the edge of an internal organizer pocket; when I removed it, it ripped the hem right off the organizer pocket. Day one, a simple pocket clip already ripped a hole in this stuff. That fabric makes up the front pocket organizer and separates the front compartment from the middle and the middle from the main.

-The shoulder straps are mounted to the pack too close together and the back of the pack itself is a little flimsy (just the canvas material) which results in the pack reshaping when you put in on. The problem is that it shifts the top half of the gear in your pack away from your body, putting undue strain on the shoulder straps (read: on your torso). My SOC pack was sturdy and would hold the gear close to your body, which is important for proper fit/weight distro as well as keeping your silhouette small for close-quarters movement where you don't want your pack catching on anything. On my SOC pack, all of this was adjustable. This pack lacks the proper straps to tighten it and compensate for the problem.

-The shoulder straps are plenty wide, as they should be, and made of the sturdy canvas, but no where near as thick or comfortable as my SOC pack.

-The hip/kidney belt assembly is a joke. The kidney pads are too thin and inadequate to properly put the weight on your hips. The belt is too narrow to fit properly or comfortably. The buckle feels cheap; I dread the day I step on it and it's shot because it most certainly will be.

-This pack does not have an adjustable depth like my SOC pack did. My SOC pack had a zipper that, when unzipped, made the main compartment 3-4in deeper, front to back. This pack lacks that feature, which I loved.

-This pack lacks any straps that go across the bottom to tighten the base and prevent sagging if the pack isn't completely full.

All said, this is an alright bag for someone who isn't doing anything important and won't have their life depending on a pack staying together. For operators, or others with a real or tactical need, this is absolutely the wrong pack. Spend the extra 30-40 bucks and get a name-brand pack from Brigade QM, Supply Captain, etc. If you're on post, just buy one at the PX or MCSS. Trust me, if you don't, you'll wish you'd kicked in the extra $40...

I'm a law student and recently started riding my bike to school, however, traditional "school" backpacks just weren't big enough for all my books and laptop. This backpack has been perfect, I can easily fit 5 large, hardcover textbooks plus it has a laptop pocket. The front pockets provide ample room for folders, notebooks, pens, and other accessories. It's large, but does not appear overly bulky. While it may have been designed for tactical uses I have found this backpack to be very practical for school.

I seriously adore this backpack. The original intent of the backpack is being able to store things one might need for 3 days. Well, I don't really use it for that purpose, so if you want a review based on that, just skip this one.

I'm a university student, and I can tell you that 4 or more classes means carrying around a lot of textbooks. This backpack is awesome, because I can fit SO MANY books inside it. Not only can I fit all the books I need, I can also fit my laptop and all its accessories inside it. I've also used it for transporting a Playstation 3 and some video games. When staying at my boyfriend's place, I can shove a bunch of clothes and food in it, no problem. I'm the type that likes to be prepared too and so regardless of what I use this backpack for, I always have a first aid kit in one of the various compartments.

Feeling a bit overwhelmed by all the weight you're going to be carrying? Worry not. This backpack has buckling straps that go around your chest and waist. The backpack can't get away from you.

So, the gist is: If you need a backpack that can hold a SERIOUS LOAD of stuff, this is totally the product you want.

Don't let the picture fool you. I was seriously surprised when I got this backpack, because it can fit so much more than I anticipated. It expands a lot. So, from the picture, it kinda looks average-sized, but seriously, this backpack EXPANDS.

I'm former active duty military (now reserve), and it's comparable to an issued assault pack, though it has many more pockets. I use it to commute to school and back (I bike to campus). Probably my biggest complaints are (1) the bottom of the bag isn't that strong, so any items (e.g. laptop) poke out and could get damaged if the backpack is dropped abruptly, (2) no side pockets, and (3) no place to put an mp3 player (though there is a slight hole to insert headphones or probably camelbak straw as well). Anyway it's a good product and definitely reducing my back problems. Thanks.

I noticed particularly after getting stuck in the rain and left soggy all day at school with wet clothes in the bottom... this bag went from smelling bad to smelling worse. It's a chemical type odor which is said to be somewhat common in this type of product though in all my years I never smelled such a stench from a new backpack! It smells worse than the stench of a very old and ratty used backpack to be honest.

It does appear that it will hold up well, seems a durable product. My son doesn't notice or care about the smell so that's a plus. You also may not notice the smell if you don't stick your head in the bag! If you have a young child like mine however, you need to search around all the nooks of their bag daily. I have read that putting newspaper in the bag and leaving it in the sun or heating with a blowdryer can help get rid of the stink. Haven't had a chance to try that yet but a lot of reports about that online and people seem to be successful with this method.

I liked the product's image compared to other designs of the same characters but goodness if I knew that it was going to smell, I'd have picked a different one.

UPDATE: After one month of daily use the smell has faded. Spilling strawberry yogurt inside it several times appears to have helped! Running it through the wash does not help. I never got around to trying the newspaper trick. I bumped my review up from 2 stars to three. It is a very good price and cute just be prepared to put up with a month of stink or treat it somehow to get rid of the smell.

Lassig 4Kids Mini Backpack

This bag is very well made, nice stitching and good heavy fabric. I wasn't sure based on the measurements if this bag would hold a folder or binder, it won't. It's small. I bought this for my 4 year old to use over the summer and hopefully in the fall for Kinder, but it won't work for Kinder since it won't hold a binder. I ended up keeping it but giving it to my two year old who it is perfect for. This will fit a small/medium size lunch box and a toy or two plus a sweater or light jacket.

I usually don't review items i buy here but this little bag is worth it! Its very well made and not your usual kiddie bag, this can take a beating and would still look nice. Well-made, well-padded, comes with a nice chest strap and best of all my tiny toddler looks comfy and happy carrying it!

We went to this bag just before my son turned two and we love it. He love carring his own bag and even cried the first time we had to take it off. The bottom is just right for 4 diapers and a flat box of wipes. The side pockit fits most of his sippy cups. The inside is big enough to hold an outfit, shoes and a few toys and a snack pack, we've even put his lunch bag in it minus the other items except clothes. There is a small pencil holder on the inside that we put a bib, passy, fork, spoon and tylenol in. The front pockit I use for my keys and small wallet. I loved it so much I bought one for my friends son that is just turning one because shes tried of not being able to find what she needs in his diaper bag.

Briggs & Riley Luggage Convertible Brief

This is a great bag. I finally decided to go function over form and find a practical, durable bag that I could wear as a backpack (my aging 40 year old back takes a beating with all the business travel I do), and could convert to a crossover for meetings, as I think that backpacks look a little less professional. I'm a 5'5" woman and was concerned that most of the BR stuff was geared toward men sizewise. With the straps shortened all the way, I found this bag very comfortable.

Organization is great. My 14" Lenovo (which is pretty bulky for a 14 inch screen) fits with an inch to spare. My power cord is pretty compact, so that helps too. It also easily fits two medium notepads, Kindle Fire HD (I put this in with the laptop in the padded section), folder with papers, and a few other odds and ends. It's not going to hold a ton, but I didn't need it to.

I was really excited to use the bag, but on the first trip, I discovered a possible design flaw: The top connector to convert it into a backpack is set in a way that the connector slides in from left to right. Which means it slides back OUT from right to left. Most people are right handed, thus they put on the backpack with their right hand and over their right shoulder first. They also may sometimes just wear the backpack with one strap over their right shoulder.

Because of the way the connector hardware is oriented, that meant that sometimes when I put the backpack on, or wore it only on one shoulder, the strap comes completely undone, causing the bag to fall and slam into my lower back or back of upper legs. Ouch! This happened 3 times during my first business trip with it. Now, it doesn't come EASILY undone if you were simply trying to unattach the strap, but somehow a higher force (like swinging the backpack on) could cause it to come undone if the strap wasn't caught on the lip of the hardware.

I was disappointed that I would have to be somewhat careful when putting it on, and I didn't think I could get used to putting it on my left shoulder first. So I emailed Briggs and Riley using their online form on 1/24 in the evening (7:05pm) after I got back from my trip, explaining the issue.

The next day (so basically the SAME business day) at 2:30 pm, I got an email from a BR customer service representative stating that they would be happy to turn the hardware the other way under warranty. She also had CALLED me a few minutes prior (I was on the phone and missed the call) to explain this to me as well. In her email, she gave me the contact info of the nearest authorized repair shop with the contact person's name. And going EVEN a step FURTHER, she let me know her warranty manager had called the shop, talked to the owner, explained the situation, and told them to be expecting me to come and drop off the bag.

Wow.

I called the repair shop and they already knew who I was. The shop staff was excellent as well extremely helpful and turned the bag around faster than their normal time because I needed it for another trip. I just received the bag today and the repair is excellent, and obviously didn't pay a cent for the fix. Problem solved!

The customer service rep also sent the info to the production team, so maybe they will change it for the next version. The repair shop agreed that it should be on the other way. My husband was so impressed, he went out and bought a BR rolling carry on to replace my travelpro, stating BR had earned our loyalty. So yes, this bag is great, just be aware that you may have the same issue with the hardware orientation that I did, and know you are getting a company that obviously values exceptional customer service.

I have a tablet, but I'm still not able to travel without my laptop and fitting my computer into my carryon bag is never easy. I take this onboard planes as my "purse" / personal bag in addition to my carryon. The padded laptop section holds my 14 inch ThinkPad and a tablet. The front section has plenty of pockets and organization for a portable office. It doesn't really have enough room for me to carry the charger block, but I can carry a small battery unit that can charge my tablet and smartphone. When at conferences / expos and I'm collecting printed material I leave the computer in the hotel and use the laptop portion for storage. Not sure if I will ever use the backpack feature of this bag. The fact that is slips over the handle of my suitcase is very important. I own several Briggs&Riley items and they last forever!

High Sierra Export Wheeled Travel Pack

My husband and I each got different bags for a 9 month around the world trip in 2004-2005. He got this bag. Today, there are no tears, looks good, wheels work, zippers are great, back pack has hidden compartments and the straps have not torn at the seams. Most importantly, this pack can be carried on any flight as long as you don't go over their weight limits. If you want more space, they have larger ones, but you won't be able to carry them on. Carrying on is important to my husband and I.

I got a Victorinox for that same trip. Mine cost twice as much. I was forced to check it a number of times because the wheels stuck out and it wouldn't squish into their carry-on measuring thing, despite it saying on the tag that it was airline approved when I purchased it. The zippers broke and the backpack handles tore off.

After that trip, I got a High Sierra bag too. My husband's original bag has been to over 40 countries and many domestic trips since 2004-2005 and it's still totally fine. We purchased one of these for a friend of ours going on a round-the-world honeymoon recently.

I took this thing through Europe with me, and I have to admit that it was convenient. My sole reason for purchasing this travel pack was to have the option to throw it on my shoulders to free up my hands for other things. To that extent, this was a great success. But be warned...the straps on this bag leave much to be desired. They were uncomfortable and literally dug into my skin. A typical backpack has more cushion in the straps, which was very surprising considering the capacity of this pack.

Outside of the discomfort, this is a very good bag. It seems to be built well, has plenty of room, and makes traveling a little more convenient.

The travel pack arrived promptly and apparently in good condition. My problem is that is had a very strong odor. I can't describe it other than it's maybe a chemical smell that is emitted from the plastic? I am very sensistive to odors and couldn't imagine all my son's clothes smelling like this bag while we were on vacation. I can't say if this was an anomaly. I do know that I once bought a cheap set of luggage from a department store and one of the 5 pieces ended up having the same odor. I thought it was because I had left something wet in it and tried everything to get the odor out, dousing it with Febreze, to no avail. Since my experience showed that the odor would not eventually dissipate, I thought it best to return the travel pack.

Got this for high school student with lots of heavy books. It is sturdy and all the features ( handle, zippers, wheels ) are well made. The school backpacks usually only ( sometimes barely ) last a year but this one should last longer. The Pack would also be great as carry on luggage and would fit in an overhead compartment, but not under a seat.
