Ogio Drifter Backpack

This backpack is a stylish, sleek, and very well built container for whatever you may use it for. Whether college (like myself), beach going, or a day out on the town, this backpack is a must have for the occasion. It is much more spacious than is revealed by the pictures, and the color scheme is well done to boot. I found myself jumping for joy having finally found a backpack that looks good (fashion being something important to myself), and is just as comfortable. I am a heavy set young male and to find a backpack in which I can use both straps, and the check buckle with relative ease was a very big plus. There is multiple pockets that are usually found in a backpack, but it is the quality of each pocket and the little things that make it such a quality purchase. The price tag is very low, at only 30 $, I found myself very happy with my purchase. I also purchased a huge container, being an art student, and it fit right in. We are talking 16 " art container people. I have never seen a backpack as versatile, good looking, and so perfectly priced as this. I am one hundred percent an OGIO customer from now on. I highly recommend this product to anyone looking for a pack for school, hiking, work, or whatever the occasion. Comfort meets beauty and you will not be let down purchasing this.

Ogio makes golf bags and has recently gotten into backpacks. It seems like their design isn't too bad as I did buy this based on how it looks compared to others, but the materials used and thus the overall quality isn't that great. There is padding all around the laptop compartment, on the bottom, and a little in the straps which is nice, but the material used for the rest is a thin plastic weave. It doesn't look to be coated either so while the plastic weave is fairly tight, it won't keep water out on a rainy day. Also, while I do like the handle on top, it does stick up pretty far off of the top. It could sit nearly flat on the top and be just as useful.

I was looking for a bag that I could wear while riding a motorcycle so it had to fit snug to my back. This bag does that, but the feel of the materials makes me think I'll have to replace it in a year. While I don't mind using the backpack, I wouldn't recommend it to a friend.

As an avid Ogio buyer, I really liked the design on this backpack and picked it up around December of 2011. Upon receiving it I loved the design, the size/usability of the pockets, and the bottle holders on the sides.

However.. as a student, sometimes this backpack gets pretty packed. On finals week (have to carry around 3 textbooks to cram with), I had to stuff this backpack pretty hard, and by the end of the day one of the zippers on the main pocket stopped working (moves along the zipper without zipping). I was a bit disappointed, but wasn't too surprised since I would categorize that as somewhat abusive treatment of a backpack. However, the smallest pocket, happens to be just the size to hold a bike u-lock! So I had been using it for that purpose for about 6 months, before one of those zippers broke as well. The u-lock definitely wasn't being stuffed into the pocket, and had plenty of space.

Sorry Ogio, I don't think I'll be buying any more of your backpacks.

Camelbak Octane LR Hydration Pack

The Camelbak Octane LR is the most comfortable and practical hydration gear I have ever used. For more than a year, this pack has been my go-to kit for runs of 13-22 miles. It is too heavy for under 13 miles, and too small for over 22, at least for us copious sweaters, or unless you have a way to refill. But if you regularly pound out runs in that 13-22 mile sweet spot, this pack deserves a place in your gear bin.

First, this pack is simply amazingly comfortable. The lumbar bladder sits low and wraps somewhat around your waist, keeping most of the the weight off your back and shoulders. It's very snug and there is very little excess motion -it moves with you, not against you. The wide shoulder straps spread the load across a larger area while being soft enough to avoid chaffing. The shoulder and waist straps are easily adjustable and while there is occasional slippage, they are generally don't require much readjusting while on in motion.

Second, this pack has usefulness to match the comfort. The waist straps have mesh pockets that can hold several gels or other small necessities. On either side of your spine sit the two main pockets that are big enough to hold a light windbreaker, towel, phone, and other larger items. An exterior mesh pocket is great for quickly stowing things like sunglasses, a hat, etc. There are several convenient places to clip a iPod shuffle or nano. I opted for the lime-green color, which hopefully makes me easier to see along the rural roads I frequent.

I also have the CamelBak Octane 18x, a larger 100oz pack. While the larger capacity is nice, it is much less comfortable for running than the Octane LR. Unless you need something to sustain you for distances longer than a marathon, the Octane LR is the obvious choice. I also pick the Octane LR over dual-bottle waist packs, which I find are tough to position comfortably and almost always experience serious strap slippage.

A wholehearted recommendation.

I am training for an ultramarathon later in the summer, and need to put in some big mileage without stopping for water. I looked at a bunch of options; chose this vest because it looked like the best of the bunch. I am pretty satisfied with it, although there are some issues you need to work through. 1) the hip bladder is great and keeps 2 L pretty cool even when running 18-22 miles in 80 degree heat. The compession straps, though, are not really useful-they only compress the bladder a little before you run out of strap. 2) the whistle is a waste and is stuck in the mount (as others have commented).I am going to use the attachment for something else or just cut it off. 3) The fit is pretty good (I am a medium) and the 2 xzippered pouches are great for stuff like keys,phone,ID,gels,salt tablets,etc, but they are a little too far back to get at easily during the run. 4)The compartments at the back are great but not accessible during the run. I can see using them in fall/winter for a shell/maps/whatnot, but right now I am using them for 1-2 0.5 L sports drink bottles (on a 22 mile run in 80 degree weather I go through 2.5-3.0 L of combined fluid) and it is a pain to stop to get the bottles. 5) You need to figure out for yourself the best routing for the drink tube-there are no instructions and there are a couple of ways it can go. The tube is definitely long enough and has a great quick release. I started out by routing it up the right side and around the back of the neck to end on the left strap, but now I route it across the front and up the left side. Either way works. 6) I wish the front mesh pocket on the pec strap had a zip or velcro closure. Seems like a feature they should have provided.

This is the second one of these that I have owned. The first one I gave away to a friend in Central America. But I run ultramarathons and do Obstacle racing and mt. biking so my Camelbak is a must! I have worn this one on several races and it has always served me well. At first I was skeptical about the bladder being down by the waist more like a waist pack but it works! I also had to do some swimming with it on my back and it is very bouyant! I highly recommend it.

As my runs get longer and take me further away from my house I've been finding I want to carry a little more than my water belt allows.

The generous storage compartments on the back easily hold my cellphone and extra food with room to spare, the side pockets are easy to get to and are perfect for quick to reach eats. Oddly, though, the clip for your keys are in one of the side pockets where it would be better off moved to one of the main compartments on the back.

Initially, I tried running with the Camelbak I use for moutain biking and found that having the water situated right on my back made the pack swing as I ran putting my off balance and made the straps dig into my shoulders. The Octane LR doesn't suffer from this problem as it hugs close and low on the back and with the water sitting on your hips helps keep the sloshing down as well as help you maintain your center of gravity.

Drinking from it is a simple affair and the flow rate is good and doesn't require much effort. The on-off toggle for the mouthpiece is a nice touch so that you don't have water dripping all over you while running. The complaints about getting the last drops out of the bladder are valid, for the most part you can drink it nearly dry but for those last couple of mouthfuls of moisture might take some work and contortions.

Overall, I'm very happy with the pack and certainly see getting plenty of use out of it on my long runs.

First off, I am a HUGE Vera Bradley fan. I avidly follow the release of new patterns and styles. Knowing my love of Vera, my husband purchased me this laptop sleeve for my birthday. The colors are beautiful, and as usual the design and craftsmanship is great!

HOWEVER my laptop, which is a 17 inch Alienware, does not fit in this sleeve. It is too thick. I have re-purposed this to now hold various cords that I keep near my laptop, and it also works well for that. But just beware when purchasing that if you have a thicker laptop such as my Alienware, it might not fit into this sleeve even though it is for 17 inch laptops.

Standing at 5'0, I'd say I'm pretty short/petite. As a college student I needed a backpack that wouldn't dwarf me, like most backpacks do. This backpack fit perfectly. Deuter Speed Lite 15 Daypack

I bought this bag primarily to commute to and from work with, so that I have a decent bag to jog with on days that I might want to do so.

This bag is INSANELY light, and even packed with everything that I bring to and from work, I barely feel it on my back.

I can fit 3 sets of keys, my wallet, and my phone in the small upper pocket; 2 bottles of water/juice/etc in the mesh side pockets; and in the main pocket, I have managed to pack my work clothes when I changed into my jogging shorts/top (dress pants, short sleeve, and bra), along with a Medela 4-bottle cooler pack and Ameda Pump Kit, a kindle, and my ipod.

I haven't had this bag out in any rain harder than a sprinkle yet, so I can't attest to how leak proof it is, although I do know that the condensation from my water bottle doesn't appear to leak through the bag. I have read reviews from other sites indicating that the Speed Lites aren't terribly rain resistent, so if you plan to jog in the rain frequently you may want to invest in a rainproof cover for your bag.

I bought this for short hikes and it is perfect very lightweight, with comfortable straps, and just the right size. The tapering shape allows for full arm movement so you hardly know it's on your back. I've also used it with a Camelbak Antidote reservoir which works very well.

I carry this backpack everyday to work instead of a purse. It holds my 16oz nalgene in one of the side mesh pockets and a similar sized bottle of iced tea in the other side mesh pocket. The small zipper pocket fits my small wallet, ipod touch, and some other small items. The large compartment fits my lunch (if I choose not to carry a separate lunch cooler), gloves, hat, and other small items.

I also use this backpack for good weather, half day, less than 5 miles round trip hikes. For that I can fit a 16oz nalgene in each mesh pocket, a 1L playtpus in the internal sleeve, lunch, a rain coat, and first aid kit. I have removed the "hip belt" as I find it getting in the way for my purposes. I would find the hip belt useful for bike riding or climbing. One thing to note is that the exit port for your hydration bladder tube is only over the right shoulder so if you are dead set on having it over your left shoulder this might not be the pack for you. I love how the tapered design and simple frame make it feel like I have nothing on my back.

I chose this pack over the 10L and 20L versions of this pack because the 10L would be a tight squeeze for a rain coat and lunch and the 20L had compression straps that I feared would get in the way of the side mesh pockets and I just didn't need them.

I often see people complaining about sleeves not having the features of a bag. They really provide different purposes. I wanted a sleeve not a bag. We got this backpack for our daughter so she could carry her few things she needed, she was 3 at the time. She loves it and it fits her really well with room to grow in the straps. I can fit a change of clothes, pull-up and cup in it plus a few more things. Nice and roomy, we've had it for a little over a year and there is no sign of seams ripping or any falling apart. I was all set to love everything about this pack--color, materials, classy looking but for some reason the straps on the back force the bag away from the back,making it very uncomfortable to carry. It is fine if u zip the straps and carry on the shoulder, but I was hoping to avoid that. I wish I could figure out a way to make it pull in rather than pull away from my back,making it more cumbersome and heavy. I may call to return as it is not a good item.

Small/medium:

Fits 16~19" torso, 30 liters/1831 cubic inches, 3 pounds 10 ounces.

Fits 18.5~21.5" torso, 32 liters/1953 cubic inches, 4 pounds 4 ounces.

Amazon system will not allow me to enter this without a star rating. I don't own one of these so I really can't, thus the middle of the road star rating.

Having said that I'm nothing if not oppinionanted so I'll say this; too much capacity for a resort/slack country backpack, too little robustness for serious use. It has the avalung so I'll make the assumption that people interested on this are into getting a tad far from the groomed slopes. Based on that these are my observations:

On the backcountry I carry snowshoes. This strap system is very likely to send your shoes flying at the first oportunity; most decent packs use (or are modified with) a decent double-dual strap, where one part tighthens the load, the second fastener on the strap locks everything, times two. The waist strap is underengineered (for the pack capacity), which will seriously limit the weigth load you can stash on this, else you will compromise comfort. Often you see packs with a pad on the back that can be unsnapped from the top, which serves as a quick sit-down pad, and as means to strap the snowboard sideways. When climbing steep I like a horizontal mount.

If you are looking for a day pack, slackcountry pack, resort pack, this should work if you pack it light, but then again I hate the extra volume that I can't efficiently put to a good use. If you are going further off trail and don't have to do a lot of hiking with a snowboard attached to it, nor carry too much weight, it should work. I would not try to carry a load, nor would I trust my snowshoes without modifying the straps.

If you must know my main pack is a North Face Off Chute 22 liter, 1325 cubic inches, 3 pounds 7 ounces, with enough features for serious use. My light pack is a 11 liter K2 Pilchuck that can fit the shovel/probe/emergency kit/sandwich, and is so slim that without snowshoes I can ride a chairlift without problems. The Pilchuck shares some of the same design shortcomings as the black diamond but that is fine; it has a third of the volume capacity. Short of you carrying steel plates you couldn't put that much weight on it, nor do I plan on summiting a big mountain with it.

At the end I'm going with the stand-alone avalung which I can then use on any backpack.

Angry Birds Space School Backpack -16"

The quality and price are that of any other backpack that you'd get for your elementary aged schooler. It's a 50/50 chance that this will last my 7 year old through the entire school year but we'll see. For the price, it is reasonable.

This bag is nice but it's a littletoo big for my 5-year old. It's probably better sized for Jr. High aged kids.

I bought this to use on a trip to Disneyland. It is great for storing tickets, and ID's. The main reason I bought it is to store my cell phone. I put my phone in it, and set on vibrate. It's the best way to hear your phone in the park. It's confortable and works very well. I like it so much I bought another one formy daughter's cell phone.

Ordered this backpack for my 5 year old who is starting Kindergarten. He loved that they had angry birds space as that is his favorite of the angry birds game. It is plenty big for any young student going to school and seems well made. This item came within a few days after ordering it.... We couldn't believe it was already here!

Sanrio Hello Kitty Rolling Backpack - Large Luggage Backpack

The backpack is really cute but no screws were sent for the rolling wheels. After paying $40 for a child's backpack, I have to go buy screws and assemble so that when my child pulls the backpack, the wheels don't fall off. Really disappointed!!!!!

This rolling luggage/backpack is cute and my daughter really likes it but when you stand it up, it falls over if anything is inside. We've taken it on trips and always end up having to lean it against something to prevent it from falling over.

I think this is a pretty nice, sturdy, vastly overpriced canvas (not leather) backpack. I give it two stars because it's mislabeled on Amazon as leather and is vastly overpriced. Other than that, the lining and the materials are nice. Anyhow, returned.
