Beatrix Little Kid Nigel Shark Backpack

Beatrix Little Kid Nigel Shark BackpackMy son has Alexander the Robot and so we bought Nigel for his cousin. These book bags are very well made. We get compliments on them all of the time. They have some kind of coating on them that keeps them from getting dirty. I throw it on the floorboard of the car every day and it still looks like new.

I bought this backpack for our recent trip. It fits everything that we needed during the long flight. We put our son's snacks, fruits, food, bip, sippy cup, toys, diaper, and wipes. It's easy to clean and unique enough that not a lot of people I saw having this backpack. I love the simple graphic on the front. There is a name label on the back that we can write his name using a permanent marker. My son is only 1 yo, but I can see him using this backpack until he is 3-4 yo.

i got this backpack for my son when he started daycare at 12 mos. i wanted to get a cute and durable backpack that would last and chose this one over pottery barn kids and skip hop. i love pottery barn kids and their girls' stuff is adorable but the boys stuff isn't that cute. plus, the time i needed the backpack wasn't around the start of school or summer so it was very slim pickings for us. i decided against skip hop for 2 reasons. first, soooooo many kids have the skiphop backpacks, i didnt want it to get mixed up with other kids', and second, he already has the skiphop dog lunch box and bibs so i thought a backpack on top of that would be overkill (although they are cute and very reasonably priced).

i like the beatrix backpacks bc of their cute designs and their quality--they're cute but very simple, not overly cutesy or cheesy like some kids' stuff. the size is great for a toddler. it's a little big for a 1 yr old to wear but not so big that it looks ridiculous. and if you get any smaller, the bag is pretty useless. he could probably use this backpack for preschool or kindergarten. my son is no longer in daycare so i use this bag in lieu of a baby bag. it tolds his diapers and wipes, boogie wipes, hand wipes and tissues, bibs, snacks, milk/water, utensils and some toys. sometimes we put his lunch in there too. yes, all those things fit in this little bag. and then i put this bag in my big bag (it fits in my lv neverfull along with all my stuff plus his blankie). we carry this bag around everywhere my son goes and it has yet to show any signs of wear. we've been using it regularly for about 5 months. it's barely even dirty. the front has a waxy coating so it doesn't get dirty, and if it does, you can just wipe it down. there's a small inner pocket and a small outside side pocket. i do wish it had at least one extra pocket besides the main compartment and that the outside side pocket was a bit bigger so his sippy cup would fit better, but those aren't deal breakers for me. we're happy with this bag and would probably get another one for baby #2.
