Love this insert. I spent a hefty amount on several large handbags before having babies so instead of buying a separate diaper bag I wanted to make use of what I had. How did I live without this for so long? I immediately pinged all my mama friends and alerted them that they don't have to be doomed to wearing the same diaper bag every day. Mace Group Macally 12" iBook Memory Foam Case - carrying case ( SPONGE12 )

Apple accessories are an industry unto themselves, some of them of questionable usefulness (like personalized colors for your iPod's remote switch). Not so this Macally iBook case. I only wish I'd had a thick, spongy dermal layer like this one covering my thin-skinned Powerbook before it fell off a chair and sustained what proved to be more than a flesh wound.

Give Macally "A's" for price (I've seen similar cases costing 3-4 times as much at Apple stores), quality (I love making finger prints and other impressions in the shock-resistant plastic "ooze"), and design (two zippers, a well-placed velcro flap, and a sturdy handle insure secure transporting of your machine).

The foregoing features would satisfy me were it not for this little overachiever's claim that it can be used as a protective covering even while the computer is in its case. Wishful thinking. The 4 corner straps are simply too loose and marginally placed to remain attached to the machine while in use. Feels a bit like trying to maneuver the cutting of a slippery 12" pie in a greased 14" inch tin. May as well remove your iBook from the case once it's reached its destination. The failure of the Macally people to leave a "port-hole" for connecting a power supply is one more argument for letting your iBook out of its cage now and then.

All in all, a prudent purchase, providing you accept the trade-offs.

This one is pretty good. It's very compact and very light and provides good cushioining to the notebook. It looks awesome as well. The only downside is the space is exact enough just to fit the notebook, the power supply cannot be put in tha case for this reason.

I've had this memory foam case for my iBook for several years now. The case is made of a thick amount of memory foam that protects the screen and battery sides of the laptop very well. However, the zipper, which goes around 3 sides of the laptop, affords little padding. Fortunately, the case is specifically made to fit the iBook perfectly so there is no wiggle room once the laptop is in. However this also means that you have to pay a little bit more attention when putting in your iBook or the case won't close. The main reason I took off a star for this case was because the zipper pull tab is really small and to make it more manageable, Macally encased it in a piece of rubber that is ~1 inch long. However, I've had two cases with the same problem where the rubber would eventually crack and break off and making the zipper pull tab hard to grab. Overall, a good perfectly-fitted case for my iBook.

For the price, this has been the perfect case for my iBook G4 over the last two years. As noted in another review, the only design flaw is the elastic corner straps, which are not great, but work well once combined with the Velcro I used to keep the laptop and case bottoms and tops together. With that adjustment, I have kept the case on the computer 99% of the time I've owned it, only taking it off at airport security. It can run for hours without heating up the memory foam at all, which makes it more lap-friendly. The memory foam itself is a big advantage over other padded laptop cases I've tried.

I've gone through a lot of photography bags, many from lowepro Lowe was my first true hiking backpack from way back and I've liked their products for years. I've always looked for something that would allow me to go hiking for more than just a day trip but it seemed like the backpack aspect of photo bags takes a back seat to integrating the 'walls' that hold the photo gear. There is never a good waist belt system, etc. This little guy really did the job for me on a recent two week trip to patagonia where I was day hiking 10-12 miles a day in variable weather.

Some nice things:

waist belt outperforms other bags great adjustment straps, good cushioning

weather cover is great for a quick rainstorm did not try days and days hiking with it but it easily fit a full pack

accessible pockets without opening the bag back pouch holds food, light clothing. top pouch can be reached while hiking and holds a surprising amount. two belt pouches are something you don't see on other bags

storage for a small tripod is rock solid and offset by the water pouch on the opposite side of the bag for good weight balance.

inner photo gear box is too big for just a camera with a single lens (how I hike) so I ended up storing other stuff in it (first aid kit, space blanket, etc) that usually ends up rolling around my pack.

straps on the bottom were fine for a sleeping pad

arches away from your back to keep sweat down to a minimum contact points limit to the hips and shoulders. I'm telling you, this is a real pack.

my negative experience in two weeks was that the clips that hold the elastic for the trekking poles broke poor build quality there. Hard to describe, basically I can't carry trekking poles any more. I rarely use them anyway so it's no big deal for me but be careful with that mechanism

I combined with with the cotton carrier strap shot which was a great combination. the d-ring of the rover pro worked great. I reviewed that product as well if you want to check it out. Turned this rig into the ultimate photo day pack for me.

Another recommendation would be to get a packing cube for your other small items. The camera box is big but you have room to the sides so things slip down in there and it's tough to find. Solved for me with a packing cube (sun screen, flash light/head lamp, water purifier that kind of thing).

Perfect carry-on size for airplanes I was in many different sizes. Thought about the 45L version and I'm glad I stuck with the small version. For a multi-day backcountry trip I would go 45L for sure.

I like the look of it. It fits my Lenovo w520. It doesn't look super sturdy. I would NOT carry it by the handles. The seams don't feel super strong. I think it's OK to keep your notebook from getting scratched in a more sturdy case. I think I paid like $20, for that I think it should have been made a little bit sturdier. The printing is nice tho.

I use this for my HP Envy dv6. It fits just fine with it and my Logitech lap desk. I can also fit my mouse, headphones, and charging cables in there easily, it just misshapes the bag since it doesn't have firm sides. It serves its purpose and looks just like the picture. I do agree that the handles on the inside are silly, but I knew that before I bought it so I didn't count off for that.

Mammut Trion Guide Backpack

I searched high and low for a pack that could haul all my climbing gear to the crag, go on multi-pitch trad, and then go alpine and do some multi-day or week long packpacking. If you'd like to buy one pack and have it meet all those needs, put on a Trion Guide. A similar product is the Deuter Guide 45+, but when I compared them side-by-side, the Mammut won out despite its higher MSRP. This pack is light, while being more than just a sac with shoulder straps: 3.5 lbs base-weight is excellent considering the comfort of the suspension system, the convenience of the side-access zipper, the pockets, and the gear loops you'll want for your alpine equipment. The suspension system is also moderately ventilated on the back (although there are packs that do this better), but most importantly for me, the suspension system provides an EXCELLENT range of motion for the wearer. I needed something with which I could twist, bend forward, bend back, lean, stretch, etc Mammut delivered. I won't go so far as to say you forget you're wearing it, but its real comfortable for an active user. Its water-resistant coating is pretty effective and the bag can survive being scraped against granite during routes.

A couple ways it could be improved:

1) the internal gear loops are too small (but still nice to clip parts of your climbing rack to the INSIDE of your pack for organization)

2) Deueter's pack has 4 plastic D-rings sewn onto the top of the lid for the purpose of affixing compression straps and gear (maybe you're sleeping bag or ground pad). A useful addition without loading on a lot more weight.

3) external daisy chains could use an extra loop above or below their current position

Dakine Girls Cosmo Back Pack

I just rec'd this little backpack it's exactly what I was looking for. I have sloping shoulders, so it's impossible to keep a 'shoulder-bag' purse strap on me without hunching that shoulder up (thereby resulting in a nice headache after >1 hour). I've got several 'cross-body' bags, but for travel & wearing to work here in Aspen I wanted a mini-backpack which hangs from both of my shoulders and out of the way; I'm not doing a 6-hr day hike, or climbing a 14,000-foot mountain, so I don't want or need the usual day-pack size. I also love all the colors and patterns available I had a hard time choosing one, but finally went with the purple 'lacey' design, which has purple-and-white zebra stripes on the inside. I'll probably purchase a lighter-color pattern also, since these little packs are definitely machine washable/dryable (made out of nylon, not cotton quilting).

IMPORTANT NOTE: The straps on this Dakine pack ARE LONG ENOUGH FOR ADULT WOMEN! I looked everywhere on the internet, & nowhere was it mentioned how long the straps are, so here you go: they can be adjusted to a maximum length of 31" as measured from the top of the strap to where it's attached at the bottom, plenty long enough for even this plus-sized gal (I even have 2.5 "extra" inches of strap when I adjust them to the length perfect for me.) I had bought a 'girls' backpack once before, but was disappointed because the strap-length was really designed for girl-size bodies, not women.

So i basically needed something to carry my stuff when i go out. It can fit a small notebook, my sketchbook and pencils, my phone and mp3 player, a small novel, and my camera. It also has little pockets for cash and stuff. There are enough compartments to keep everything organized, which is nice.

It can't fit textbooks though, so I wouldn't buy it for school.

I haven't had it for very long but it seems pretty durable.

Overall I am very happy with this product.

This was my second purchase of a Dakine Cosmo backpack. I got it for carrying essentials on the back of my wheelchair. It is just the right size to carry some emergency supplies like a spare inner tube, some small tools, tire changing levers, and some medical supplies. I've had the first one for 7 or 8 years, and other than fading from exposure to sunlight, it is just like new. The zippers get used almost daily, and have never jammed, even though most of the time I reach behind my back to zip and unzip them. The only reason I got a new one is to go on my new wheelchair!

I love this backpack! I ordered it in preparation for a music festival, where I didn't want to lug around a big backpack, but wanted some essentials on hand. It is the perfect size to carry everything you need for a day spent outdoors (assuming you're not doing an activity that requires a lot of gear). It is compartmentalized really nicely, with places to hold small objects like chapstick and I.D. It is very comfortable too. The straps do not dig into your shoulders.

I purchased this backpack because I liked the way it looked, it's size, and that it had a laptop compartment. I used it for a total of 6 months and within that 6 months the zipper pulls came off multiple times, the zipper in the main compartment started pulling apart and finally last week one of the shoulder straps pulled completely out of the bottom of the backpack!!!! The zipper broke the first time I used it. The zippers are stiff at first but once you use it they get better. I like the book bag itself, except for the straps, they are a little rough. I seriously thought about returning it, but didn't feel like going through the hassle of not having it.

Like my title suggests, I'm writing this a few minutes after taking this bag out from its confusingly small-ish package, so if anything major happens I'll be sure to update this. I ordered this... read carefully, on the 13th of March and I am just now getting my grubby little hands on it, on the second day of April. I wasn't expecting Amazon's wonderful two-day shipping or anything, but geez... nearly three weeks for one bookbag? I was originally mortified when I finally did get it (three weeks later), since it arrived in such a small package, but that terror subsided once I found my full-sized backbag neatly wrapped up in its constricting plastic barrier. Yup, the bag I received looks exactly like the picture, and I was actually surprised at the quality of the leater (pleather?). It's very soft, and I appeciate all of the pockets they placed on the exterior of the bag. It did come with a smell though, which I can't quite appreciate, but I'm sure it'll air out eventually just like most of the other leather (pleather?) products I have previously ordered from Amazon. Would I reccommend it? Why of course, it's a beautiful, roomy bag at a decent price. (That $8.00 shipping however... well, that's besides the point.) Anyway, yes! This backpack is a godsend for a college student like me. Now I can suffer back pains from carrying my laptop and 3kgs of books around campus... IN STYLE. ;)

The Outdoor Products Power Pack is the best large-capacity laptop backpack I've owned. It is high quality, very comfortable, and has loads of pockets.

I have kind of an obsession with computer backpacks. I've owned a number of them and spent countless hours looking at pictures and reading reviews. I've never been completely satisfied with a bag but I think that has ended. I happened across this Outdoor Products bag at an REI when shopping for other things. I couldn't believe it. Someone had finally made my perfect bag. In fact, it's perfecter, because it has features I never thought of.

What makes this bag so great?

Pockets, pockets, pockets. This bag has tons of pockets. It has a large pocket organizer area with a mix of elastic and zippered pockets that are inside the bag. The pockets are labeled so you can remember where you stashed all of your little things. This is perfect. It also has 3 small zippered pockets around the exterior.

The laptop compartment is isolated and padded. You don't want your laptop jostling around with all of the other stuff in your bag. You also want quick access to it as it's the thing you'll be pulling in and out all the time. And you don't want a big hemisphere zipper that goes all the way around the bag to get at it. It also has a removable padding insert so it will securely hold anything from a 13 to a 17 inch laptop. Again, a perfect solution.

What they call a "quick stash pouch". This is the exterior, front flap you can see in the picture. This is an expandable area you could quickly toss something without fussing with the zippers.

The back is well padded with channels for airflow.

One of the coolest features and something I've never seen before is the "retractable check-in slider". This is a pocket running down the center of the back of the bag (against your back). Inside the pocket is a stiff, airline ticket sized wallet that holds a ticket and ID. The wallet has a loop to pull it out and is permanently attached to the bag with an elastic band. There is no risk of losing it or it being stolen. It's hard to describe but it is absolutely the best solution I've seen to what to do with the stuff you need to access when flying.

There's also a "hidden" pocket on the back for valuables. It's actually the underside of the padding and is inaccessible while you are wearing the bag.

The only design flaw I've noticed is the elastic cell phone holder on the shoulder strap. It's a good idea to give you a spot to put the phone where you can reach it while wearing the bag. The problem is it's too high on the strap and hard to reach.

This bag is a hidden gem. I've never seen it mentioned the many times I've gone searching for the perfect bag. There are hardly any pictures or good information about it on the net. There's actually a cardboard product booklet attached to the bag that does a great job of highlighting it's features with pictures. It's too bad the company doesn't digitize this and make it accessible online. Outdoor Products' website has the tiniest pictures. Their marketing department gets a big fail. (BTW, the most detailed online review and pics you'll find if you google it is for an older version that's quite a bit different. Be sure to compare any pictures you find to the one here. It's easy to tell.)

None of the North Face bags were as appropriate for me as this Outdoor Products bag is. I always carry a 15" laptop, portable hard drive, large water bottle, various notepads and sketchpad, lots of pens and pencils, my ipod, a tiny journal, among other miscellaneous items. This bag carries all of these items and more (sometimes I toss my SLR camera and a lens in the bag) and I don't feel like a giant turtle. The "nipple strap" removes the load from my back in an amazing manner.

Basically, I use this all of the time and it is very comfortable, even when loaded with a ton of stuff.

In addition, there are two "secret" pockets that are on the back side. One is perfect for money, ID cards, and a passport.

I really researched the right backpack for Heavy Travel while lugging around a Laptop and Photo Equipment. I travel around the world, and I need something that had a lot of space, organization and would hold up. In looking at backpacks it was a toss up between this backpack and the North Face Surge. I ended up with both and eventually ended up with the North Face Surge. That being said, I have owned a previous Outdoor Products backpack, and it has held up for 9 years of heavy use. I have traveled all over Europe, South America and Caribbean with it, and used it for business.

The Power Pack 2.0 is not only improved from the original Power Pack, but it is so efficient and well made you really can't go wrong with it. Also the price is great.

It has the BEST Laptop Slot and works with even my 17 inch MacBookPro.

Tons of space.

The only down side is that it sits a little bit harder on the back. The reason why is because it expands so far out, if the backpack is full it can not sit flat on the back.

I literally researched every backpack that you could use for Heavy Travel and Business. This and the North Face product are the BEST.

I would highly recommend.

I recently picked up this bag to replace my High Sierra Access Backpack, which by the way, was my favorite backpack until now. Over the month and a half that I have been using the Outdoor Products Power Laptop Pack 2.0, I have come to really like it as a daily bag. I typically carry quite a bit with me. Being geeky by nature and an Amateur radio operator, I am always totting along several electronics.

Typically the problem I find with bags is the built-in pockets simply do not fit what I need to put into them. Even more frustrating is when the pocket is sabled for something, like a cellphone, but mine wont fit. With the Laptop Pack 2.0, I have not found that to be an issue at all. The built-in pockets are all of great size and fit the intended gear as well as the other odds and ends quite well.

One of the biggest selling points of this bag to me was the dual drink holders on the sides of the bags. Quite frequently I would find a great bag, but it would only have a holder on one side. Or the other issue would be that they were zippered and larger drinks or stuff would cause them to open up or the holders would not be breathable (mesh). The side holders on this bag are elastic top with a mesh pouch (the perfect combination). As if that were good enough, Outdoor Products also included a zippered pocket behind the bottle holders. So this means there are actually 4 side pockets (2 on each side). The mesh pockets hold my coffee tumbler and my Camelback water bottle very well, even with stuff in the zipper pocket behind them.

All in all this is a great bag. I really enjoy bags and I have to say, this is one of the best I have seen and am VERY happy I purchased it.

SuperME cape backpack

The SuperMe backpack was instant hit at our house for both Mom & child! The backpack appears to be super durable and very well made. I love that all the "extras" for the kids don't interfer with the usefulness of the actual backpack. The buckles have reflectors on them which I think is a nice addition! My son shouldn't have any trouble fitting what he needs for preschool into this backpack. Now on to the important part! My son LOVES this backpack!! With one zip, the cape appears!! Pull out the eye mask from its convienient slot and you have an instant SuperHero!! Great Job SuperME!!

I ordered this backpack for my 4 year old superhero, and she just adores it. the cape and mask are so much fun and she loves the neat patches. I like that it is made of sturdy material that cleans up easily. The only negative things I can say are that the buckles are a little hard for her to undo herself which is frustrating for her, and that I wish it was a tad bigger so she could use it for school next year. We bought two of these backpacks, one for our son and one for our nephew. They both love them. My son loves to bring his lunch to school in his backpack, and my nephew loves wearing his with the cape and mask on everywhere he goes. At Thanksgiving, the first thing he had his teacher write that he's thankful for was his SuperMe Backpack. He absolutely loves dressing up as his own superhero and running around playing with it. I love that this is both a practical backpack and a great tool that allows kids to be creative and to feel confident in themselves. The mask is a great addition to the backpack and the patch is super cute. The material is very strong but super lightweight, which is great for the kids. Overall, these were great purchases. My son received the SuperMe backpack for Christmas and it was an instant hit! At 3 1/2, he is in a MAJOR superhero phase right now and I love the idea of feeding his interest without swathing my preschooler in Spiderman branding. He loves the bright colors and couldn't WAIT to show off the cape at school. In fact, his backpack was his first show and tell item. He's also had a lot of fun switching out the badge and put on the Frosty one after a recent blizzard.

As a mom, I love the roomy main compartment, especially the small netting pocket so little stuff doesn't get lost at the bottom! The backpack is durable and well made but light to carry.

I had been loooking for a light-weight, medium sized tote to use for overnight/long weekend trips for a while. Finally decided on the Strand tote and couldn't be more pleased. It holds a ton clothes, shoes, cosmetic bag, etc., the handles are long enough to fit over the shoulder and well padded so they are comfortable. The material is light-weight, and the inside is well lined. Functional with a nice, simple design...perfect!

Got it for my little princess and she loves it. The waterbottle is a great extra and the backpack is perfect size for 2 to 4 years old :)

I ordered this Tinkerbell backpack for my daughter and found that it's made much better than I expected for a toddler backpack: The material and zippers are heavier/more durable than my son's toddler backpack (bought elsewhere for $5 less). The panel facing my daughter's back is padded nicely (my son's pack has no padding whatsoever), and the graphics are vibrant, appealing, and appear on most areas of the pack, not just the outer pocket like my son's pack. Details like the irridescent piping and wings really make the pack shine. All of the flowers printed on the pack have glitter embedded in them so they sparkle but the glitter doesn't come loose even when rubbing aggressively with my thumb. My daughter (age 2.5) has yet to take an interest in the pack, but I'm confident she'll discover it as she gets older (she loves Tinkerbell after all). I did have an issue with the shipping charge, but I called the seller, Big & Little (took a few tries to reach them, probably due to the holidays), and they took care of the mistake without hassle. I would recommend this to a friend.
