Great backpack, quality materials. Sturdy wheels and well balanced, does not tip. Telescopic handle easy to pull and retract. Better sized (larger) than most rollaway backpacks. Zippers are smooth and don't catch. Can fit all of my kid's books, planner/keeper, and lunchbox. Nice vivid colors, make it easy to spot in a pile of schoolbags. Plenty of pockets for small items (pencil case, wallet, cellphone, etc.). Wish it also had a side handle--big bag gets pretty heavy when full--difficult to lift and load in the car with just the one handle at the top. Otherwise, very good product. Priced well too.

This backpack is large enough to hold all the necessary supplies my 6th grader lugs back & forth from school. Also, it has several compartments which help in organization. It seems sturdy and well built.

The shoulder strap broke off within about 3 weeks. Not sure if it's a fluke or a recurring problem. Otherwise my 11 year old daughter loves it! It is too big for her locker but is also stuffed full.Going to see what happens with return/exchange.

I bought this backpack for school. After an exhaustive search online, in local stores and across campus, I can definitively say that this is hands down the best laptop backpack you can buy!

Pros:

1. Tons of space and usable compartments:

1 padded laptop compartment

1 thin compartment that can be used for papers and folders

1 main compartment that contains vertical dividers to keep things organized, a smaller interior mesh pocket, and an ipod/cell phone pouch that leads to a slit in the top of the backpack for a headphone cord

1 decent sized pocket on each side (I use 1 for my laptop charger and accessories)

2 stretchy water bottle pockets big enough for the big 1 liter bottles (good for umbrella too)

1 small pocket on the top front

1 pocket on the bottom front that contains a bunch of small organizer pockets found in every backpack that nobody ever uses

2. Comfort: padded, shock absorbing arm pads, padded back, and a comfortable handle on top.

3. Appearance: In my opinion, this is one of the best looking backpacks out there, but I can't argue with taste so if you have one of those ugly backpacks, that's fine with me.

4. Price: Phenomenal deal! ($50 when I purchased it) Would have gladly spent more (don't tell amazon)

Cons: (there really are none... I'm nitpicking here)

1. The opening for the laptop is on the side (not the top) which makes it a little awkward to get in and out. Not a big deal though.

2. I would have liked a little more padding underneath the laptop. The amount of padding is pretty similar to most other laptop cases though. You just need to be careful about setting it down to hard.

3. The size was perfect for my 15.6 widescreen. I haven't tried a 17", but I'm guessing it would be too big (if you could get it to fit inside, it would be VERY tight)

I wanted to replace my husband's Targus shoulder laptop bag because it was just way too heavy (even when empty). I decided to get this backpack for his 17" Macbook Pro. The description says it holds up to 15", but I felt confident that it would fit his 17" because I tried stuffing his laptop in my 15" SwissGear backpack and it fit perfectly. Sure enough, this bag also fits the 17". I also wanted to mention that I was looking at other SwissGear laptop bags in the $50 range at Target and there's a huge difference in material and quality compared to this one. Although Amazon sells this for $50 (at least when I got it), I feel that it's worth more a lot more. But I'm not complaining about the price ;)

I bought this item so I could reduce the wear and tear on my back and neck. The first day I used it, I pulled the adjustment piece on the strap and without much effort the piece of hardware came off. I have had this thing since 2010 and it's been stowed in the car, in numerous overhead bins, under the seat, in the closet. All the while it has protected my laptop and the rest of the contents well. I have zero complaints about this backpack and I would absolutely buy it again. The separate pocket for a laptop has been a great feature during airport security screens. Also the size and shape of the numerous pockets has been a big help. I've even found use for the carabiner. The handle on top is great, too. I never fumble for it and the grip is extremely secure. For me it's just the right size to pull out from under the seat in front on a plane, tuck it behind my knees, and stretch out a little after takeoff. After 6 plane trips, a bunch of car rides, and just general tossing around it shows zero wear. Buy it.

I've only had this bag for about a month, but I am a longtime Ogio fan/customer and I know a good bag when I've got one! I got this bag to replace my old ogio bag (6 years old), which was falling apart. Considering the fact that bag went through 5 countries, and survived NYC for years...that's saying a lot. Anyway, this new "Lucas" backpack is a slim, and sleek bag. My favorite features are the side zip pockets (most bags just use like...cargo netting for their side pockets), and the chest buckle (good if you're doing any biking or running and want the bag to stay secured on you). I can fit a pair of jeans, a belt, 3 shirts, socks, and a pair of shoes into the main compartment...so it's just the right size. The material seems sturdy, zippers are sound...I hope this one holds up as long as the last one.

My only concern when purchasing this product was sizing, but it fit my MacBook Pro 13 perfectly, with a little room to spare which I assume would fit it with a hardcover, although I don't actually have one. I really like that this can be used as a sleeve alone or that I can put on the strap and carry it by itself, it's perfect for all situations. The bag seems durable so far, no fraying or obvious weak points.

The built neoprene material is great as a laptop bag. I have a white macbook and this fits my laptop perfectly, I wanted a bag without the extra pockets since the macbook battery lasts a long time. You can also unhook the straps and just use it as a sleeve and put it in backpack. The strap is very sturdy and easy to adjust. I'm very happy with this purchase.

This bag is lovely. Excactly what I wanted except it doesn't fit the MacBook Air 11.6 inch snug like you want a neoprene sleeve to fit. It is so big, I think it would be big on a 13 inch as well. Too bad because it is really cute!

Briggs & Riley Luggage Excursion Field Bag

fits iPad, accessories, office do-dads and 8.5 by 11 paper pad. Still some room left over. iPad gets carried in a sling system so that it will survive an accidental drop. Everything else is top Briggs Riley quality. Some wish items: 1) the bag bottom could have used a different material with a little more hard foam and rubber bottom. The front flap closure system could have been something other than clips that take two hands to open/close.

Advanced Mountaineering Pack

I have this for my bug out bag and it holds a ton. I have at least 60 pounds of gear and I have had no problems with any of the clips, straps, or sewn attachments. The beauty of the bag is that the main compartment is accessable from the front (the panel opposite you back when wearing the pack) instead of only from the top. This allows you to get at gear at the bottom of the pack without digging out the rest. This panel is supported by velcro and zippers and straps. Molle is all over this pack. Two large side compartments made to be compatable with hydration systems. These pockets are large enough for my 3L Geigerrig. Lots of connection points and very versatile.

I bought this pack about 3 and a half weeks ago and have hiked with it for 3 weekends in a row. No problems with straps or fasteners. I'm carrying about 35 lbs and have had no issues of any kind with the pack. It is capable of holding a ton of stuff inside the rucksack and it's covered with PALS webbing so all of the MOLLE pouches out there can be attached. It is rigged with various methods to adjust it's fit: web attachments upper back area between shoulder harness and ruck; top of shoulder straps to top of ruck; bottom of shoulder straps to lower ruck; and of course the belt strap.

One minor issue is with the water bladder pockets on either side of the ruck. The pockets are very big, work fine, however if you don't pack out carefully inside the ruck and you have pouches attached on the outside of the pockets, the pockets get pinched between the stuff inside and the pouches full of stuff outside making it difficult to push a bladder into the pocket. It's a design issue. They would have been better off running the PALS webbing all the way up the sides and letting the owners attach their own canteen or bladder bags to the outside of the pack.

I definitely recommend this pack. It is a monster and very versatile.

This backpack was a bust--the shoulder straps broke a week after it was purchased. It wasn't even full. My son tried it on to see how it would feel and was walking around the house, and the strap broke right off. The other shoulder strap was on the verge of breaking. A backpack doesn't do any good unless you can carry it on your back, and this one failed. Big time. This was a gift, and I don't know if I will replace it with the same brand or go for something totally different.

Definitely a good pack for the money. It fits a ton of stuff. Fits like a modern pack and has plenty of padding. I like to use my packs to 'train' with, so I like to pack them heavy. I would NOT go on a long, multiday hike with a lot of gear in this pack. It isn't cheap by any means, but just doesn't "feel" heavy duty. IF you are a pack-mule like me, this isn't the one, but its fun for an additional pack. It's a big pack, and the modern fit it doesn't look like you are advancing on a position; i.e. doesn't look like a webbed-out military pack...even though it sort of is.

I have to admit that I'm writing this review and I've never used the product. It's been 50 years since I was in grade school. But, if giving this backpack as a gift to your 6 year old granddaughter and seeing the smile on her face and the twinkle in her eyes is worth anything, then I'd say this was a 5 star backpack.

She's had it now for about 2 weeks and has showed it off to all of her little friends at school. She's still thrilled with it, and has pointed out to her grandmother that all she needs now is the thermos that fits in the thermos bottle loops inside the pack. This luggage is very cute and a good size for packing a little girls stuff. The only thing I didn't like about it was that it has only two hard walls. One on top and and one on the bottom. The two sides of the bag has only plastic walls. It is probably because the side walls are a little curved-in to copy the butterfly shape. This bag does not look as much attractive when it is not full. I wanted to give it as a gift and I had to fill it up with shipping plastic wraps so that it does not look collapsed and wrinkly.

This item is totally adorable!!! But the only way it will look like the picture is if it is stuffed completely full! It has plastic reiforcement on the bottom but the top is just partial, not going across the total width of the bag, so there is no structure to keep it square. The sides just collapse in. This would make it dificult fo a toddler to zip it up. The handle will stay in the up position if you let go of it, put it does moves freely up and down so as a child is pulling the luggage, the handle moves up and down. It didn't help that it was shipped in a plastic bag and came completely flat. Very dissapointed for the price!

This was purchased as a gift for my daughter because she was taking a week long trip to grandma and grandpas house. Pulling it out of the box revealed a very cutely colored rolling luggage. It has some pockets for smaller items and plenty of internal space for clothes and other necessities for a child. Unfortunately, it feels cheap. The extendable handle does not lock in place, which has annoyed my daughter as she tries to pull it along. The handle will just collapse at the smallest amount of force. After just one week of use the colors don't seem as vibrant. I am sure it will last plenty of time and my daughter loves the wheels which allow her to pull it along like mommy and daddy. However, I would not purchase this item in the future as I am confident I could find a better quality item for a similar price (the price was great, especially since it was a gift).

I got this suitcase for my little girl (5) before our Christmas trip. She had fun naming her owl and packing her "accessories" in the outside pockets. It is quite roomy--all of her belongings for a 7 day trip were able to fit in it. This luggage helped her to be much more independent during our travels--including a 6-hour layover in the airport. My only complaint is that it fell on the front a couple times and my daughter started pulling it that way for a minute or two and the mesh on the front pocket wore away in a couple spots. Other than that I haven't had any issues with durability.

Meaning.... we took this on a month long trip and it got manhandled from vehicle to vehicle, toddler playing with it prior to trip and packing/unpacking stuff from it all month. It held up well to constant use. My 3.5 yr old loves HER suitcaseI have to keep it in the closet when not in use, as she wants to roll it around and put all her toys in it otherwise. It holds quite a bit of clothes, I packed it 2 weeks full of baby clothes (as we took our 4 month old with us). On the return trip we packing it with the toddler stuff and it held easily a week's worth, plus some toiletries. I'm sure airlines are harder on bags then I am, so based on what I can see in the manufacturing of the bag, it could hold up to being thrown around a few times, but it IS a child's bag and it IS made from softer materials then a "grown up" bag. They came in 2 days (no processing time) on a Saturday! The seams are finished well, with the main bag seam finished with a black fabric tape. They look much nicer than I expected. I would definitely order these again. The Fashion Rack's service only made this experience better. I called to confirm shipping because I had a very tight deadline, and they were courteous and spot on with their explanation of delivery time frames. This experience was well above my expectations.

This lightweight bag has a lot of features to love. It has 3 pockets in front, some inside organizer pouches in the main compartment and a hidden zipper pocket in the back. The shoulder straps are padded (yeah !) and adjustable. There is a water bottle pocket on the side that closes with a clever magnet so it is not flapping around when empty. It is waterproof (or very water resistant). The bag is padded so it keeps its shape when stood on the floor and it has a clear plastic panel on the bottom so the bag doesn't get dirty or wet. Lots of places to keep ID, transit cards etc and enough room inside for someone who is a bit of a hoarder. Can fit a kindle or ipad, and the padding would give it some protection.

Personally, I could do without the padding so as to have more room, but it isn't obtrusive. It does tend to make the bad more comfortable to wear if you are only in a t-shirt. Just note that the front-most pockets (flap closure and the zip one next to it) will not fit most smart phones but do fit my luddite, old fashioned cell phone.

It doesn't look CEO dressy, but it isn't like a trek backpack or daypack you could probably use it in most work environments. Also great to take the kids to the park or for a mass transit commute or shopping.

Positively a keeper thinking of getting some more colors

It has so many compartments! I wish I had it when my twins were toddlers. Seems to be water resistant. Hard to soil. Love it!

The detail on this backpack is amazing! Its hand embroidered and looks fabulous, the reason I am giving it four stars is because it is very flimsy and the zipper comes undone if I put more then just a few notebooks in it. Asolo Switch 35-Liter Technical Daypack

I have an old Samsonite backpack which is very comfortable and I was looking for a new backpack which had a similar level of padding and comfort. I tried the highly rated Samsonite tectonic and the Swissgear 1592 but found them not as comfortable on my back as my old Samsonite. Then still searching, I found the Asolo switch which had pretty much the padding in the back I was looking for, and turned out to be the most comfortable of the 3 packs I tried. I also liked the fleece lined electronics pocket as well as the water resistant section that can be used for wet/ or to protect dry items. Something I thought I would remove and never use when I first got it was the raincover that folds out of a zippered pocket on the bottom of the pack. However, the first time I was in a heavy rain I used it and it was great having it; a feature I now wish I would have had in previous backpacks. The only negative which is minor is the small leatherette or vinyl triangles that have cords coming out of them on the front of the bag seem to scuff easily and get faint white markings on them. Otherwise I am very satisfied with this purchase.

I've had this backpack in everyday use in Vancouver, BC for almost two years now and have zero complaints. It's comfortable, durable, light and most of all, the attached rain cover is FANTASTIC!!! I cycle in the rain quite often and with the rain cover on, everything inside stays dry. Every backpack should have this option.

Since it's not mentioned in the product description, the rain-cover is located in a small zippered pouch in the bottom of the pack. The cover is large enough to cover the entire bag (full of stuff too) just exposing the straps when pulled out. It also has an elastic edging to keep it snug. The cover can then be 'stuffed' into this pouch when not in use.

This bag is bigger than you would think. It is very well made, although the inner lining is a bit stiff and "crinkly", but that's fine. It fits very well, and best of all, holds the new macbook air 13" vertically like a glove. I have a very thin sleeve on the macbook by waterfield, and it fits perfectly. Very useful pockets/etc on the outside. The bag itself is dark grey, *not black*, but it looks perfect. Love it. !!

From that I assumed there was a compartment to keep my expensive piece of technology safe, but that's not the case. The inside of this bag is a void with one small zipper compartment just big enoug to hold a wallet and a phone at the same time. Aside from this misnomer, the bag is very cute, just big enough to hold one standard sized text book, an iPad, and a mamilla folder all at once, and very stylish. Overall, I like it. I just wish I'd known the drawbacks before spending over $50 on it.

I ordered this one because I am dumb and thought "this LOOKS cuter than the large one...." Little did I know this was basically toddler size.... Hahaaa! Returned it and got the larger one. Great non-the-less!

Very good quality. The straps are nicely padded and the texture of the dinosaur "skin" is very life like. Only a small zip pocket is inside but I have make-up bags that I keep all my small belongings in so I don't really need pockets. My nephews (3, 4 & 5 years old) all loved it and wanted one but I bought this for myself :) Great for anyone who is either a kid at heart or an actual child. I expect this bag to last a very very long time because it is very nicely made.
