Rosewill Backpack for 17.3-Inch Notebook Computer (RMBP-12001)
I would highly recommend this backpack for those who have to carry multiple items versus lugging around two bags or even three.
The quality is durable. The zippers are standard.
You cannot go wrong with this backpack! My wife told me I look like a teenage mutant ninja turtle, however... And I am 5'11".It works for my HP 17.3 inch laptop and has all kinds of storage and straps for mp3 player, phone and water bottles. We will see how it holds up on the trip.

Just what we were looking for! It was a great price and it was a great price. Got to love it.I bought this backpack to wear as I commute on my bicycle. I wear a reflective and high visibility jacket, but I felt like my other backpack covered up the reflective and high visibility stuff just where it matters: the part the cars see behind me!I actually hemmed and hawed a lot before buying this because I just think it's a little expensive for a basic green backpack. I spent some time trying to add reflective fabric to my other backpack but it was a hideous fail. Finally I broke down and bought this. I'm glad I did because it's better than I expected.
It's obviously high visibility, both in terms of color and reflective material (for night time). The reflective strips are quite broad and in reasonable locations. The bottom strip you see in the picture goes around to the sides, the top strip does not. Although it's not visible in the picture, the trim around all the edges of this backpack (the mesh pockets, the zippers) is also reflective. Nice touch. As I was looking around for backpacks, I really wanted one with reflective material on the straps that go over your arms as well. It just seems like a very visible location. Unfortunately that is not the case with this backpack. The shoulder straps are green with a diagonal black strip. Well, there is a very small bit of trim at the intersection of the black and green that is reflective, but it's not much. This means when riding you are not particularly reflective from the front. Just be aware. I may try and add something to the straps some day.
I actually like the use of black on this backpack. This lime-green material is obviously eye-catching, but this effect can be augmented by adding high contrast...patches of black. The bottom of the backpack is black (which helps keep it clean and the area right around zippers is black, and there are the black strips on the front, as well as black nylon straps connected to the shoulder straps. Not bad at all.
The fabric is heavier duty than I was expecting, though nothing unusual for a backpack. I was pleased. Somehow it seems like high visibility stuff is often made of very thin stuff.
The zippers stick pretty easily. I think it's because they easily suck up the mesh liner inside the backpack. It's a small beef, though.
This backpack is significantly taller than expected. Maybe my old backpack was small or something. Anyway I would not be surprised if I could fit a racquetball racket in this without any of it sticking out.
This isn't just a simple backpack by design. The back zipper you see in the picture isn't a pocket, though. It separates the back flap from the rest of the backpack, and it's connected using a bunch of mesh. In other words, unzipping this zipper doesn't allow you to put anything in, but it expands the size of the backpack by a LOT. I'm thinking it's built to accommodate a basketball or something. By the way it unzips around the bottom of the backpack, not the top. Interesting.
Inside the backpack you see the big area surrounded by mesh that can be expanded by the exterior zipper. The interior of the backpack is partitioned into two compartments: the part that expands out and then a larger part on the other side. You can put a lot in this thing. There is also a flap hanging down inside the backpack for putting small things in. Wallets, maybe?
There is a rather large pocket on each side of the backpack, with mesh at the bottom. You can see the mesh in the picture.
There is some padding in between the backpack and your back, as well as in the straps.
Nice backpack overall, and very visible both during the day and at night. Suggestions for improvement: I actually like to adorn myself with blinking lights and it could have been nice to have had something to hang them on. I'll have to rig something up. Don't want anyone to miss me at night!
Powerbag Business Class Laptop Backpack with Battery for Charging Smartphones, Tablets and eReaders
It is easy to carry, not too heavy unless you really overpack it. Because of the charging battery, it doesn't have a huge amount of space, but it's adequate to bring all the stuff you really need to carry onto the plane. I would definitely recommend this.
The laptop holder section does unzip from the rest of the backpack, and the U.S. airports did let us run it through the scanner without removing the laptop. The foreign airports did not.Does everything it says it does....would recommend it. Was able to charge my iPad, iPhone and Blackberry all at the same timeHave been using this bag for the past week or so. I do like the fact that there are numerous pockets throughout this bag to store all of your gadgets, and office gear. The bag looks good, but not sure how durable it will be compared to the SwissGear bags that I have used in the past. The chargeing function is the main reason for switching, and I look forward to using this bag on a daily basis.

Case Logic XN Messenger Bag
Also the flap's front pocket... what were they thinking? What am I suppose to put in there? Everything I stick in it (mp3, cell phone, comb, sticky notes, etc.) slides up towards the handle when I lay my bag down, but the items do not slide back down when the bag is vertical. So, now you've got items tucked up towards the top zipper tab. Strange design thinking there, as the bottom of that compartment actually has a wedge of fabric, implying the compartment's use as a vertical pocket, not horizontal.
A plus for the matching flashdrive cover and key hook thing-a-mah-bob as well. Theres also an added pocket on the back of the bag, really great for folders and sheets of paper you don't want crushed. The bag's dividers are alright for schedulers and the like (nothing bulky). The front pockets will NOT hold a laptop charger comfortably. Not a PC sized one, at least(the largest front pocket is about the size of an average 1/2 fold wallet).
I bought the dark brown. It's not as reddish as the photos seem to show. It's more like the color of a milk chocolate Hershey's bar. The straps are charcoal grey, and are adjustable on either side of the shoulder pad. And I've never had a problem with the adjustments slipping, they hold tightly, even with a ton of weight.I bought this bag for my husband for his Dell laptop. It is great! It holds the computer and so much more. There are plenty of compartments for his work items. I also like that the inside is a different color so that it is easier to find things. Also, it is so much cheaper here than at the Dell store!

two major problems:1. after less than 6 months, one of the clips you use to fasten the front flap pulled right out of the fabric, and this bag was not put thru heavy use
2. the shoulder strap is junk. if you put even a few books in the bag, it's enough weight to consistent pull the strap to its greatest length, because the adjustable apparatus is so cheaply made it won't hold. therefore, the bag is always down around your knees. looks pretty stupid, and very cumbersom.
it looks nice when you get it, has nice pockets, etc, but the two problems i describe above render it uselss. do not buy this product. The biggest issue I have with this bag is the strap. It CONSTANTLY kinks and twists. Especially where it's connected to the bag. The metal holder twists and gets all kinked. I've had this bag for 1 month now and I hate it.

I left the carry strap at home and just rolled it behind me.
One note, my wife packed so much stuff in hers she couldn't lift it to put in the overhear storage bins!
Well worth the price.

This is my second Maxpedition bag. Not cheap but awesome quality and functionality. I am in sales and on planes all the time. Just right for the overhead and can easily pack for a 4 day trip.Tough and spacious. Tried many other bags for carry on. This is the best so far. Convenient handles for carrying. Highly recommend!Saddleback Leather Briefcase, Classic Dark Coffee Brown
When I travel this bag has to be with me. *EDIT* The XL complies with the carry-on baggage measurements *EDIT* It holds everything I need and keeps everything safe and undamaged. People say there is a large heft to the bag. I like that. If I wanted something that's light weight I would keep buying the same junk that will be ruined in 3-5 years. The heft of these bags means quality materials and work has been put into them so that they last for centuries (I can only vouch for a year so far).
I have this bag in an extra large. I'm 6'4", 200 lbs and this fits me perfectly. It's not too large or too small. I can easily pack two pairs of pants, a pair of shorts, three t-shirts, two dress shirts, some underclothes, my toiletry items, a book or two, my notebooks and some pens without having to cram things in. If you have all three straps buckled you are going to find it's a pain to get into, do as the picture shows and tuck the left and right straps back up and through the loops and only buckle the middle one if you know you are going to be pulling stuff out of it all the time.
The price is high, but you really do get more with this item than you will with any other bag in this price range. The main website even has their competitors linked on their site so you can do a comparison against their items.

3/27/2011: The leather is really starting to get soft, like a pair of boots do after wearing them a while.
Also due to all the airlines charging for checked luggage I have problems now finding space for this XL guy. I've had to check it at the gate a few times, but I just quickly take off, and pack, the shoulder strap followed by strapping down all three closure straps. There's a bit of fear that someone might go through it (especially traveling to some international locations), so do be careful of that.I flip bags. I buy one, use it, enjoy it, get bored with it, then sell it on eBay. I kept looking at the Saddleback medium briefcase, but I kept looking at the weight, 6 pounds, and could not bring myself to buy one. After all, I go to so much trouble and expense to find lighter and lighter laptops, so why add 3 or 4 pounds to the empty bag?
But then I realized, when I fly, and hike with a Macbook and several other electronics through a huge airport, I can take another, lighter bag. But when I'm in town and not walking far, I can enjoy the amazing Saddleback. So being a cheapskate, I bought a pre-owned one on eBay, thinking, if I regret it I can sell it on and not lose much at all. I usually shun anything preowned, but these do have a 100 year guarantee, and a new one is only new until you use it, so I did it, and it seems to be good as new, except with enough scratches and patina to allow me to use it with abandon and not worry about the first mark appearing.
Anyway, I am not disappointed. I love my briefcase and it gets looks and comments everywhere. To be specific. it's the medium size in dark coffee brown. You cannot find one in a showroom or a store, so unless you run into someone like me, you can only judge it from images or videos online. But let me tell you, if you like bags, if you like good leather, and you want a distinctive piece of craftsmanship, treat yourself to a Saddleback briefcase a.s.a.p. You won't regret it. Like me you'll sit and look at it for hours, and take it everywhere you go.

What! Only 2 stars? Let me explain. I don't actually disagree with what is being said, and I would have written a similar review after having the bag a short time. But after 2 years, I ended up selling it. The good news? If you ever decide to sell it, you will get 80-90% return on your initial investment. This bag is simply too heavy to use as a daily bag. I walk a fair amount as a professor, both on campus and at conferences, and the weight was simply too much. I'm no wimp, but try walking around a good portion of the day with this thing around your shoulder. Also, the weight of the bag nullifies all the light, thin, laptops, phones and gadgets of modern times. The bag looks great, smells great, feels great..... and makes a great display piece. But it simply makes no sense to carry around your stuff in a such a heavy bag. I tried to convince myself it did, but after a couple of years I wised up.
I do love good bags, though. And I like to support small companies making great things. I ended up with a Mission Workshop bag. They make all their stuff in America (unlike Saddleback), have a lifetime warranty, and their stuff is cool (a different type of cool than Saddleback, but cool nonetheless). Wonderful customer service, too. Oh, and it is only a fraction of the weight of a Saddleback while carrying way more stuff.
My advice? If you simply love the look and character of a Saddleback bag and you don't plan to commute reasonable distances with it, you might be happy in the long run. Otherwise, find something that is a bit more practical for day-to-day use. Notice that most of these reviews are by people who just received their bag, and like when you're in new relationship with someone that doesn't really make any sense to be with, but, hey, she's pretty hot you overlook some major issues. I spend two years with one as my daily bag, and the initial appeal had long worn off. A bag is meant to carry stuff around, not be a chore to carry around itself.

This is a tremendous briefcase. The leather is quite heavy duty. My medium briefcase is in dark coffee brown, and while the leather scratches quite easily, it really does look better with some wear. The small pamphlet of religious materials included didn't do anything for me, but I can respect someone standing by their beliefs, even if they are not mine. The briefcase is somewhat heavy, but I have not found it to be overly cumbersome. The medium fits my MacBook 13" perfectly, and fits the 15" just fine, though it does stretch the back compartment a bit.
Highly recommended. I look forward adding more pieces to my collection over time. This briefcase has gotten many comments over just a few weeks of ownership.

This is a nice bag. It's tough. You can throw it in front of a speeding train and it will survive (the contents of the bag probably won't though). If you live in a humid environment, you need to use it everyday or store it in a room with a good dehumidifier. Otherwise, this bag will get moldy really fast.
This bag is heavy. It's not for people who complain about carrying things. If you're the type of person who will complain about heavy bags, don't buy this bag. Get a bag with wheels.
One more thing, I don't recommend using the backpack mode too often as it can lead to scoliosis due to the odd weight distribution. I used to use this bag in backpack mode all the time. Then my doctor found that my spine was slightly curved. Ever since I stopped using this bag, my spine has recovered.
BTW, this bag has a 100-year warranty. And the customer service people of the company are really nice.

I gave this product 4 stars, because it is reasonably priced and it would have been durable had it not been for the abuse of my 5 year old and teachers putting his coats in there, which caused his zippers to blow out. I would recommend this product if it will only be used for light use.

My 5 year old son absolutely loves this back pack. He takes it to school every day and it is big enough to fit all of his work folders, his lunch bag and his jacket. It is very light so there is no added weight. We have not put anything too heavy in it so I don't know how it will hold up with heavy books.I want to add to this review many months after I wrote the first one it is starting to tear at the fabric and the seam at the bottom. My son's lunch bag is pretty heavy so the weight of it caused the backpack to tear. Not super durable but my son just loves it anyway. It will last one more month until his school year is over so I guess it did it's job. I was going to get a new one for him anyway. Wish it would have held up a little better though so he could have used it for summer camps.

the screen printing on the neoprene though, makes the outside of the case a strange scratchy texture.
no performance problems, just a little odd to carry and hold for long periods of time, occasionally screen printed design feels sticky. The case is just as pretty as it looked in the picture. I like that it has a zipper flap to protect my computer from the zipper. It is slightly padded and that's all I wanted, just something to protect it from scratches and spills. The only "problems" I have is the hint of "new" smell but a dryer sheet should fix that. Also, it is slightly too large for my Macbook pro 13" but nothing of major concern.
All in all I am happy. =)This looks as good as it appears in the picture, if not better :) And the quality is good too, really a good protection for my macbook. Recommanded.

Aqua-Quest 'The Biker' Waterproof Backpack Dry Bag - 25 L / 1500 cu. in. Charcoal Model
It is 25L, enough to not worry about folding. I love it because it is cheap but offers the same quality than backpack at twice the price.
One negative point: I am 6'1 tall and it might not fit taller guys.As a biker model, I got this backpack, well, for biking. Although the construction and materials quality is pretty good, the design itself is sort of interesting and sometimes challenging.
First the good.
No zippers. Everything closes tight without zippers, just Velcro which means longer usable life.
6 pockets. One is a big, duffellike bag with a smaller compartment on the front. Two side pockets on the backpack and two side pockets on each strap.
Really waterproof. The interior is completely rubberized (not the front pocket).
Now what's keeping me for giving 5 stars to this backpack.
The backpack allows for two states: Empty or semi-full and full. The empty state means you need to wrap to top in a unconventional way, which is not explained anywhere. Or, like I did, I just put two carbine hooks on each end and folded the whole top down.
There are two straps that latch on front of your body. They seem to be sort of high on their location, so the one that is supposed to go on your stomach is actually latching mid-sternum and the top one that is supposed to go on the chest, is actually very close to the neck. If the backpack is full, the one on the neck will choke you.
Not a bad backpack. Seems very durable and efficient at keeping things dry inside. It just takes a while to accept the design and work around it.

The material of the outer shell seems very durable. We'll see how it lasts throughout the years. Water proof bags are notorious for developing holes in "pinch points" where they are constantly rolled. This material seems very durable though. The design is simple, which I like. I love the pockets on the hip straps. The product could benefit from a rubber reinforcement on the outside bottom of the bag, just to protect it from abrasion over time. I would be willing to pay extra for this.Overall very satisfied with this. The material and construction of the bag were basically fine, but to describe this as women's/unisex is totally off.
The straps system will only fit a very petite teenage girl or boy. The chest strap fits almost to the neck and the
hip strap comes nowhere near the hips or even the waist. I'm 5'6" and no amount of adjusting would make it work. Looking back over other reviews, this problem was mentioned but I didn't think it would be this bad. This is getting sent straight back.i use for commuting via bike rain or shine and this bag is perfect. not a drop has made it inside the bag and the 25L model was a great size for what I needed. rides very secure.

I love this diaper bag. I bought one in 2010 when my son was born and we continue to use it now for overnight stays and trips even though he's 3 now. Our baby hasn't been born yet, but my husband loved this gift for Christmas. I feel bad every time I see a dad carrying a girly diaper bag and I wanted to make sure that my husband got a cool bag he could use both now and later. The bag is organized nicely and the ability to access wipes from the outside is a great feature. When you have a mess to clean up, chances are you don't want to go digging through the bag to find them.I also was pleased with the fact that the price was cheaper on Amazon than the manufacturer's own site.Good size, lots of compartments, area for wipes, bottles, clothes, etc. backpack style great & convenient for Dad! Thought it wouldn't have as much inside areas but it is well equipped. Very satisfied with sturdiness & make of bag.
